IC: Eddie Current Super 7 OR Cavalli Audio Liquid Crimson

WARNING: Any sale is likely at least 2-3 weeks out, if not longer. This post is to gauge interest in both amplifiers.

I have not yet determined which of the amplifiers I will be selling. I have two incredible amps but will only be able to keep one. Interest has been expressed in both of them from various individuals here and at Head-Fi already. I'm starting a spreadsheet for myself to know who to get in touch when one goes on sale.



Eddie Current Super 7
This is the newer version with the updated transformers. I have modified it for additional clarity, soundstage, and slam.

• 0.1μF Jantzen Superior Z-Cap capacitors x2
• 10μF Mundorf MCap EVO Aluminum Oil capacitors x2
• Vampire CM1FCB RCA connectors
• A big knurled metal volume knob
• 7x 7N7 tubes w/ adapters

If I sell this, I'll include an option to buy the other 10+ 7N7 tubes I have as well as ~10 6SN7 tubes.

Cavalli Audio Liquid Crimson
Purchased from Alex Cavalli himself in his Liquid Emeritus retirement sale. I would include either the stock Genalex tube or a 6N23P-EV with it.

I believe this was once a demo unit and has been freshly serviced by Avenson Audio to ensure it's in perfect working order.

Preference will be given to:

• People I've met IRL
• Friends
• Contributors
• Locals in Southern California (I'm in Irvine/Laguna Hills)
• High offers
• Someone with a great story about why this should be their amp

Price is still TBD. I'm anticipating something in the neighborhood of $1500 for the S7 with all of its mods and complement of 7N7 tubes/adapters. The Liquid Crimson will probably be in the same price range. I might be an ass and try to recoup all shipping costs if I'm able to, but I'm not planning on asking what it's worth (~$2000).

Man....both are so rare and highly rated. If I had the funds I would volunteer to buy one, but fortunately I dont' have any headphones ><. Gotta say that the cavalli is a looker

 

I'm trying to extend the amount of time I can keep them by putting together a list of interested folks so I can send messages out when I do sell (and get it sold quickly). I have some almost-6-months ago PayPal Credit crap that I never paid off and would prefer to pay off via a sale rather than bothering the wife with a bank account transaction.

I do plan to sell whichever one I love less. Right now they're like siblings that are different in many ways, but one isn't better than the other.

 

If I had the funds, I would keep both. And yeah, the Liquid Crimson really is a looker.

 

P.S. If any mods have a problem with me gauging interest, I'm happy to murder this thread and stick it in a hole somewhere until I know which one I'm selling. If it takes a couple of weeks to sell one after I'm ready, I'm not going to be homeless.

 

Luckbad, you may have to see a therapist given how fast you change gear lol. Finding happiness is the key

 

There needs to be an SBAF meet at Luckbad's house to audition them

 

I took a look at my PayPal again and I can totally get away with keeping both of these until mid-late January. I'm keeping the list to PMs handy but I probably won't be selling for more than a month.
