I bought the upgraded cable for the Z5 last week, finally listened to it. Just briefly, but it sounded better. Not sure if it's great sounding, I only listened to one song to sneak a listen. I'll try to listen more later today.

News: Child-man on HF buys ie800s and rubs dirt and sweat into them, gets very upset that they don't sound as good when caked in ballsweat, chooses not to try for warranty service but instead shoves a needle into the port which further breaks the earphone, cries about this being a design flaw (of the earphone, although he clearly is a bit defective) and then has a tantrum and breaks them apart with a hammer:

Kinda neat to see inside the ie800, though. Thanks, child-man!

Very entertaining morning read. He probably could've gotten a warranty replacement even after f'ing with the bass port.

Haven't seen Senn gore like that since someone smashed a pair of 598s in a review.

Just got a FitEar Parterre for $450 and i think it's really a steal. Good overall comfort with stock eartips, also comes with a big and sturdy pelican case. Euphoric, addictive sound with a slight emphasis in the midrange and midbass. Treble is non-fatiguing but a tad rolled off. Soundstage is rather small but imaging and depth are superb. Driver cohenrence is also top notch, there are really no hole or strange peak in the spectrum. For me it's the iem equivalent of the Senny HD600/650. Really looking forward to you guys opinion.
I'm not a native English so pardon me if there are any misused words, thanks.

The soundstage seemed small to you? I've heard people say the best part of the Parterre was its huge soundstage for an IEM, but maybe times have changed and it was only relatively huge at the time it came out. Been kind of low-key looking for an IEM that can emulate a warmer, analog sort of sound. I have a list right now of different IEMs for when (and if) I decide to go for it... do you think these could be good contenders?

I believe the Parterre was FitEar's, "tribute to the ER4S," no? I believe it's what they wished the ER4S sounded like.. so that might inform the tuning somewhat.

I heard it quite some time ago (around when it was released) and liked it a lot.

The F111 single driver was FitEar's homage to the ER-4S. The Parterre was their dual driver using the new (at the time) Sonion Accupass dual driver. The Custom Art Music Two uses this same driver arrangement in a silicone custom. It's a vented dual drvier, so Piotr has somehow carved out space for venting.

Really looking forward for your impression for CA Harmony 8 lineup, especially the newest upgraded version, the Harmony 8.2

I like the original Harmony 8, but I felt it was a little to thin and lacked impact. Hopefully the upgraded model sounds a bit nicer.

Just picked up a pair of Aurisonics Rockets for a fair price. They are like a improved version of my RHA MA750s. Do everything a bit better with around the same sound sig (little bit less boosted bass and a little bit more forward in the mids) and are some of the comfiest and lightest IEMs I've ever had. Ugh, now I'm telling myself no more useless spending. Had my 750s for like a couple of weeks, and my dumbass decides to upgrade already...

Guess it's time to put the 750s up on the block. Dammit I need to stop doing this to myself

The Rockets are a great set of micro dynamic drivers. Reverse comply or Sennheiser biflange are great tips for them.

Surprisingly the stock tips work well for me. Usually I have to find some alternate tips like some comply ones, but I actually like the sticky ones that they come with

Which tips do they supply? Sure fit? Kind of sticky?

Certainly. These resembles the very FitEar signature: natural and warm (or analog-like) sort of sound. There's also the more expensive FitEar TG 334, with an even smoother and lusher tone, with deeper bass response (think of the HD600s vs HD650s). As for the soundstage, I think it's quite small in comparison with something like the Noble K10s or AKG K3003s, as the midrange is a tad forward (like sitting in the first or second row of the hall).
Oh? I think I heard somewhere that the F111 is FitEar's tribute to the ER4S (single driver), not the Parterre (2 drivers). Maybe I'm wrong tho.

No sir, you are correct.. The F111 is FitEar's tribute to the ER4S.. I had them mixed up.
