    I have been debating on buying a Miles Davis compilation for quite a while, but it is Very pricey: The Complete Live at the Plugged Nickel (1965).
    Today I ran across the album "At Plugged Nickel, Chicago (Live) 1976". GREAT double album at a reasonable price.

    Interesting, there's an overview of the different editions on Wikipedia. Looks like the double album you got is a Japan 1976 reissue. The same is available for digital streaming on Qobuz, I'll be listening.

    When I bought it, it was just a double album. Then I went to find a link to it on YouTube to share and it was actually two albums.

    I have been more into Miles Davis and buying more albums recently. Yesterday I was thinking that I really needed to hear an album that I hadn't played in a long time, Miles Davis Live at Newport 1955-1975.

    When I say a long time, I am not exaggerating. I just realized that I do not have a copy on my laptop (my jukebox), which I have been using since I got my BF2 in Jan.2021. I used to use my DAP (Sony NW-ZX300), but it will not work with the BF2 and I had to assign a laptop to juke-box duty.
    So...I haven't played this set in two and a half years. I ripped the 4 CD's to my laptop today and Monday will be Newport Day (a few minutes shy of 5 hours).

    For those that are surprised that I haven't noticed not hearing this set in two and a half years, I did a Miles count today in my collection.
    Miles Davis, with all his different groups, consists of 317 pieces of music in my collection. That is 39 hours of solid music.

    When I listen to music, the majority is rock, new and classic. Jazz is probably about 30 to 40% of my listening.

    The live Miles posts reminded me how much I was enjoying this album when it came out. The last several shows with "The First Great Quintet" consisting of Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Wynton Kelly, Paul Chambers, and Jimmy Cobb. The recordings from Paris are a little muddy sounding to me, but Stockholm and Copehagen are nice and clear. All 50's material, which is becoming my favorite Miles Davis era again, though I have been listening to Pangea and Aghartha frequently. Edited because I never proof read and can't do grammar.

    Have you heard the new album Merci Miles! Live at Vienne?
    It has become my favourite Miles Album. Of course that title changes every few months.:)

    PS: I just relistened to Live at Newport 1955-1975. I Much prefer the 50' and 60's stuff. The 70's stuff can get pretty self indugent, although I did enjoy A Tribute to Jack Johnson last night. It was a great follow-up to Live at Newport.

    Just brought the Stellaris Special to main base, replaced Psvane 2A3 with Tak 2A3 from the other amp, and decided to test with the tonally and percursively most twisted jazz in my recent collection. Meaning Illegal Crowns's latest unclosing;

    Lead single "Dawn Blessings" from the forthcoming album on International Anthem by Bex Burch, There is Only Love and Fear. My kind of mellow, but still has rhythm and energy. Xylophone, strings, percussion, and field recordings. I wish there was a way to embed Bandcamp tracks here.

    I have accumulated several Coltrane CD box sets from ebay over the last year and enjoying listening to stardust tonight (with the lights turned down).

    Darkly humorous, Sisiphean, urban-chaos-and-order, irresistible if you've spent any time in NYC, or, even better, if you or someone you know lives with NYC parking rules. Just out on Bandcamp.

    New single from Daniel Villarreal "Sunset Cliffs" on International Anthem featuring Jeff Parker on guitar and Anna Butterss on bass. Similar to the feeling on Mondays at the Enfield Tennis Academy, which make sense since it's the same folks on bass and guitar, more drum/beat driven, also not surprising since it's lead by a drummer. Excited for the full album in October.

    Cool, it reminds me of some Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio tracks...
