Let's go through the facts here. Judeus:
    1. Misrepresented himself as the original owner.
    2. Bought a used unit from somewhere (he says Audiogon, but I wouldn't believe anything he says)
    3. Said pots were loose and tried to self service. Opened amp from top, and pinched phono out wires when he tried to reassemble because he has no fucking clue how to do anything with amps.
    4. Consulted with MARV DIRECTLY. Marv mentioned the amps open from bottom.
    5. Used the fact that he first consulted with Marv to get 100% free repair service from Craig. Basically blaming Marv for his stupidity.
    6. Complained to PayPal about Craig wanting him to cover CDN to USD conversion, and other PP fees.
    7. Threatened Craig with Police action. Craig gave him address and phone number of Sheriff department for Calabasas.
    8. Refused shipment in two boxes (power supply always goes separate) to Canada using Fedex. Send a single waybill of his own from UPS to Craig for 20 lbs (does not cover weight.)
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS SCAMMER!

Here is his post for your reference. Notice the lies and discrepancies:

I want to start off by saying that I am reluctantly making this thread. I really didn't want to but Eddie Currents actions leave me no choice. Never in my life have i been so put off and disrespected as a customer in my life.

So the story begins, I purchased a used Zana Duex S. I planned to buy one new initially, but I saw one online on Audigon and an opportunity to save a few bucks and get it a lot faster, so I thought, why not?

Upon receiving the Zana Deux it appeared to be damaged in shipping. A lot of the screws had fallin out or were loose and some of the interior components were lose as well. Luckily when i first plugged the amp in after putting back and retightening the screws it worked for about the first two days I was in possesion of it for. Sadly, in the days following, when turning it on, I experienced weird distortion and unusually low volume from the headphone output.

I contacted Craig from eddie current about the predicament and the first thing he told me was (i have the email) "im not sure what it could be, but if you can get it to me, I'll fix it." (i was unaware of eddie currents warranty policy at this point in time.)

After a extensive email conversation with craig and replacing all the tubes to ensure they weren't the problem (as well as sending marv internal photos of the amp) i sent the amp back to craig to be repaired.

Upon receiving he told me that i needed to send the tubes as well (all he told me to do was send the amp). I thought it was obvious after the extensive email convo we had and after waiting weeks on end for new tubes ( rectifier, driver and power) that they were obviously not the problem. Apparently that was not good enough for craig. Apparently they did not have any tubes available for use with the zana duex s and he wouldn't touch my amp until i sent my own tubes in. I found this a little hard to believe but i bit my tongue and indued the cost and sent my tubes in.

To make a long story short, the tubes weren't the problem at all. He discovered the issue of the problem was a short between the left and right channels and the ground wire. Great i thought! Nothing major, i was expecting a hefty bill for a component replacement. He then sent me an invoice for $100 warranty transfer and $128 to send the amp back to me. "What?" I thought thought to myself.

I responded and explained he never mentioned any warranty transfer fee initially. (i admit this is my bad as it is clearly stated on the faq page of their site.) Still that shipping price seemed high and there wasnt any component replacement necessary. I explained to him my dismay and told him he should of mentioned to me the repair price and asked for a quote from a different courier and also to ship the item back in one box as opposed to two. (i said i would take responsibility if the a tube got broken as i didnt realy care as i had extras)

He agreed to shipping the amp back in one box and he also then decided to get his wife(?) involved for some reason. She started blaming me for lieing and tampering with the amp. She said they owe me nothing and because im not the original owner, I owe $100 for craigs time. (again i admit this is my bad, probably should of read their policy).

I asked if i could send them my own label as their quote seemed ridiculous. They agreed initially . (i called fedex and it would only cost $78 to to ship a 20 and 9 pound parcel, so they are trying to profit off shipping costs. This is without a small business discount as well) They also wanted me to pay an extra 4% to cover the paypal fee as well.

At this point i wad pretty pissed and told her how ridiculous and unprofessional she was being, i also told them charging customers paypal fees is against their policy. I also said i would be selling the amp due to the customer service i received, despite loving the amps sound.

Reluctantly, I sent the $100 to craig and printed my own label from UPS (which only cost $39) I then sent the label and customs form to them. (im in Canada)

I then get a response from his wife saying they wont send me the amp back and will only ship it to the new owner once i sell it. They are doing this to "help me out" since i "can't afford the amp" she told me.. what?? Also she said that because i listed the amp lower then it's worth on the customs invoice, im a lier and they wont take that risk. (despite them listing it at lower value when sending to customers) How would they have liked it if I returned the amp to them with a customs value of $2348 and they had to pay tax on it? I bet they would of refused it and had it returned to me. She also said craig redacted his "offer" and will only send it in 2 boxes.

So yeah, they are now holding my amp hostage and wont return my emails.

I have paid the $100 fee and provided the return label. Not really sure what im supposed to do, i already told her id contact the police.

I know this community loves eddie current so i was reluctant to post this.

Maybe Marv could talk to them? Or if anyone wants to buy it off me? Please pm me

Well...Shit. This is LH Labs level BS. A bit worse actually. I'm half-tempted to link this on reddit (even though a lot of /r/headphones that doesn't know about this already aren't in the market for this expensive of amps.)

Edit: After immediately seeing the new evidence...LH Labs is still the worst in customer service and this dude is a dirty scammer.

You want a MOT to lie on the customs form for you? Wow.

I'm not sure what EC has done wrong here except not properly manage your expectations.

It also sounds like you need to ask the original seller on Audiogon to help pay for the repair.

Sounds to me like Craig was willing to bend the rules for him, only to be caught in a "when you give a mouse a cookie" scenario.

Looks like I probably don't have to say anything at this point, but why would you post to reddit before there any resolutions or corroborating facts?

Don't worry, I deleted it pretty quick after realizing my sleep-deprived brain only half-thought it through.

I did soon after. I just didn't edit my original post because that was my fault for not thinking it through at the time.

Might not be the best idea to attribute to malice what can so easily be explained by his stupidity.

We've received dozens of complaints about him over time and he has scammed someone on HF as well.

He purposefully deceived Craig and it was the final straw. The mods have been discussing what to do with him but this thread just accelerated what was already happening.

Let's be real, if you're going to be a dick and drag a manufacturer's name through the mud and we have evidence of you lying to the manufacturer and to us, it's not so goddam innocent.

This guy likes to play the victim. Nothing is ever his fault and he's flipped his shit several times on here.

No need for apologies at all. You saw something that looked like someone had a really bad experience and had a fast reaction (we all do it).

Well, I can't help you much except to advise that since you refused Craig's shipping charge of two boxes via FedEx, that you send two two slips (UPS or shipper your choice) to Craig. You can make up whatever you think the boxes weigh or how big the boxes are (there is a surcharge for the price of the bigger box's dimensions), or how much the gear is worth, but don't be surprised with UPS or Canadian customs when they bill you for the amount that needs to be made up.

EC will not throw both the power supply and amp into one box. The extra space (holes) for the big box are meant for the tubes, not to jam in the power supply.

This process would have been much easier had you been honest and told Craig that you tampered with the amp and that you were not the original owner. You asked me a few questions regarding how to properly access the amp's innards (since you had difficulty); but you totally neglected to tell Craig about this or even let me know ahead of time that you broke it as a result of your tampering and needed to send the amp in. As far I knew from your posts, you were enjoying the amp.

I think Craig was being generous with his original offer of free troubleshooting and repair included with the $100 warranty transfer service. FWIW, the international ground rate via FedEx for the two boxes and their respective sizes and weights from Calabasas, CA to Calgary, Alberta is $215.36. Craig was giving you a good price (his small business rate) for shipping. No one was trying to rip you off.

Oh... I am unbanned. Guess I'll set the record straight for this mindless eddie current circlejerk lord marvin apostle forum.

    Judeus/OICWUTUDIDTHAR:

    <link removed to protect Judeus>

Let's go through the facts here. Judeus:

    1. Misrepresented himself as the original owner. -Um No. http://imgur.com/usnCOrV
    2. Bought a used unit from somewhere (he says Audiogon, but I wouldn't believe anything he says) -The seller had it on head-fi and audiogon
    3. Said pots were loose and tried to self service. Opened amp from top, and pinched phono out wires when he tried to reassemble because he has no fucking clue how to do anything with amps. -again more bullshit http://imgur.com/XStcO3v
    4. Consulted with MARV DIRECTLY. Marv mentioned the amps open from bottom. -Yeah? and? I had the amp working for over a month with Marvs help. It then stopped working the day after I moved the amp. Marv obviously told Craig's wife he had helped me fixed it and she started accusing me of fucking the amp up and lying about tampering with it. The email that Zerodeefex quoted where I said "What? no I didn't, all I did was move it." Was in relation to when the amp stopped working, not when I was consulting Marv. Cherry picking emails to make them seem in the right and I fucked the amp.
    5. Used the fact that he first consulted with Marv to get 100% free repair service from Craig. Basically blaming Marv for his stupidity. - Again more bullshit. Initially all craig said to me was "send it in and i'll fix it". (again, I admit this was my bad I should have found out the policy before hand of the $100 transfer for warranty)
    6. Complained to PayPal about Craig wanting him to cover CDN to USD conversion, and other PP fees. -No. I told craig your not allowed to charge customers a Paypal fee. It has to be hidden in the cost of the product if you accept paypal. It is against their terms of service for businesses who accept paypal.
    7. Threatened Craig with Police action. Craig gave him address and phone number of Sheriff department for Calabasas. -I did. Him and his wife stopped responding to my emails and refused to ship it.
    8. Refused shipment in two boxes (power supply always goes separate) to Canada using Fedex. Send a single waybill of his own from UPS to Craig for 20 lbs (does not cover weight.) -This is really stupid. I shipped it there in one box and nothing was damaged. There is more then enough room to send it all in one box. Shipping internationally is pretty expensive. Attempting to profit off international shipping by dinging customers is even more stupid. In the end I had to send him two labels as he refused to send it any other way, despite me putting in writing I'll accept the responsibility if anything is damaged.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS SCAMMER! -Tell to the people on here who I've sold big ticket items too

Anyway, I got the amp back and it works, however now it hums. (tried isolated outlet and furman power strip, hums without tubes installed, but worsens when power tubes are installed)

Obviously the $100 repair fee didn't go to good use and obviously no quality time was spent during the repair process (all the problem was, was a pinched wire) as the hum is extremely obvious (noticeable through headphone jack as well as without headphones connected.) Additionally Craig refused to transfer the warranty to me which is against his policy.

Now onto this little slimey shit zerodeefex. This guy is a bully, abuses his power and should in no way be an administrator. Back on changstar, he found out my name by my email address I used to sign up and googled my name. He then proceeded to change my avatar to my IRL photo and my forum name to my IRL name. He even found a poem i had written and won an award for and put that on my profile in order to mock me. He did this several times and I had to PM another admin to get it to stop.
On superbest audiofriends, he constantly changed my user status to insulting things and deleted numerous of my liked posts. I had to contact a mod like 5 times to get it stop stop. Also he did this all anonymously, I only recently found out it was him.

    - A warning: Zerodeefex, I know who you are and what you look like. If I ever see you at a meet, I will go get a crowbar and smash your gear. I hope Donald trump wins just so he kicks your ass out of the US.
