    Hummmm, does anyone have an extra pair of 7062s? Mine just went all grainy on me. Grrrr. It was definitely my tube of choice in the microZOTL

    Here's the thing with my vinyl rig: it's a pain to lug around (it's like 40-60 pounds or something) and there are a lot of cables and such to pay attention to.

    That said, vinyl has so bowled me over, I really want you guys to be able to have a similar experience. It's worth (almost) any amount of effort if you guys can have that emotional and fantastic connection to music that vinyl brings me.

    So do people going want to have that experience there? We can plug any amp we want into it.

    I can bring my Gungnir Multibit too if we want, but I'd rather only bring one of them.

    @bazelio , Amperex 7062...I doubt it went grainy on you. It can get microphonic though. Could be an easy solution if you can confirm for me...

    Moving that table around is a real effort and a lot of work. If people REALLY want the experience, serious props to Adam for doing that and spreading the joy.
    I know turntable owners who won't let people even breathe around their table, let alone move it places! :)

    @shaizada

    Microphonic for sure. I can touch the chassis and hear noise through the headphones. What do you suggest?

    @drfindley man, that sounds like a monumental effort, but if you do bring your rig, i'm beginning a vinyl adventure and would greatly benefit from it. i have a Gungnir Multibit, and i'm sure others will be around, so leave the Gungnir Multibit at home! :)

    @drfindley's analog rig is pure joy.

    If he is willing to make the effort to bring it you guys are in for a real treat.

    Feel free to plug it in to my rig. :rolleyes:

    Homemade tube dampener (PTFE tape)...., so far so good.

    PTFE's mechanical properties are low compared to other plastics, but its properties remain at a useful level over a wide temperature range of of -100°F to +400°F (-73°C to 204°C).

    Yeah, PTFE can take heat... In this amp, they actually are only warm to the touch. This should still allow for adequate cooling. Let's see. :)

    The good part about the Herbie dampers is that the don't overdampen the tube and kill off the sound. Too much dampening or incorrect dampening can deaden the sound of the tube. The materials that touch the glass of the tube have a large bearing on the sound.

    I'm sure you notice that with the PTFE wrapping you did around the tube as well.

    EDIT: These are the ones u want: UltraSonic Rx-9

    Your table is easier to carry around than mine ;) but if you want it's totally up to you I have Tidal and hard drives with stuff. I love the vinyl experience and if you want i could bring my phono stage since that is much smaller than the Zestos :)

    @shaizada

    Yeah I was wondering if it was my imagination..... I still think it sounds better than any 12AT7 I have. But, yeah, I do think it has a slight deadening effect.

    The best 12AT7 I heard was the Valvo 6201 Triple Mica, blue labels. The Amperex Holland 7062 is one of my absolute favorite tubes ever for a 12AU7 replacement.

    OK disaster averted, I am coming, with everything I have.

    Rag
    Yggdrasil
    SRM-717
    SR-007 mk1
    SR-009
    Abyss (only pair in existence that has the famed Marv mods and this pair has been rubbed with the genitalia of Zerodeefex)
    HE-6 (elusive 2-screw edition, this has more body than the 4-screw and 6-screw versions)
    HD-800 (modified with SBAF dishrag and carpet cleaner and comes with Bill-P sorbothane head apparatus)

    I am happy there will be vinyl, this meet looks good, we'll have a good stax amp as well. If anyone is on the fence about bringing gear just bring it, even if it's low-mid-fi whatever, it's always good to have lots of points of reference. Make sure to keep track of your stuff, especially cables, bring headphone stands if you can. If you're bringing a common or popular item, mark it with your name via sticker or tag.

    @drfindley, big props for you to drag your rig out. I didnt really listen to it at the last meet, so I appreciate it.

    @Fired_One411: Please bring your F5, CodeX, Stratus, cherry picked HEK.
