This is what I don't understand. What exactly is your point? Of course Trump is not the first to preside over terrible shit. Its his actions and responses as a leader. Leadership matters. I have been directly told by a CEO leadership matters and even if it is not fair what happens when your are a leader is a reflection on you. I didn't want to hear it at the time but it is true.

All politicians are corrupt ok..... pretty simplistic. I think the world is a little more nuanced than that statement. And does the fact that politicians are corrupt make it ok? In the frame work we live in politicians have a role and purpose. What surprises me is the nihilism. The just nothing matters its all corrupt. We already have a leader desperately trying to dissuading people from voting. Its very bohemian until is not and you or your family is effected.

See your talking about a policy of trying to lower immigration and family coming to American. Fair enough. I just don't believe you should make a choice to do it by separating young children from their parents on purpose. Or if you have to resort to that maybe keep an excel spreadsheet. So you know you have a change to give the kids back. I guess I am just too sensitive. Who gives a shit about kids.

You are missing the point. What I'm saying is that Obama could have pulled this off without nary a blink as a means of discouraging the use children for would be a lost cause. He would have been smart enough to say that he cared about kids so much, that the policy was intended to protect kids, to keep them safe in surroundings other than jail, thus the policy!

Bottom line is that not allowing illegal immigrants in or kicking them out is just simply sad. California cannot sustain the middle class moving out, and only illegals and a few rich people from China moving in. Good public policy should never be about the individual.

They all do. Whether it's through citing skewed polls or gerrymandering.

Check this out, California's congressional district 28th.

You're assuming alot about my beliefs based on 2 forum posts.

No, all of them being corrupt doesn't make it ok. And yes, it's that simple. All of them. They all know what's going on and not trying to stop it or at least not calling out and shaming others for taking part makes them complicit.

My beliefs are too radical for me to comfortably post online. Let's just say I think we need a full reset.

If this is for me I can't say a whole lot. I am from Louisiana and moved up here 3 years ago. I have been basically working hard and have not had the time to really focus on it. My second in command hates him with a passion at work.

I hear a lot of dislike for him but when I ask why the conversations just fades. Not many seem to like the guy but they can't seem to tell me much. I am not pro or con just tying to get peoples take in causal conversation when it comes up. Then again I talk to 25 people at work and my wife so not a big circle.

I understand Gerrymandering. I also can see how politicians can use polls to achieve all sorts of goals. I do think it's on a different level to spend years talking about rigged elections. Again I think this is a bit different. Its a little weird listening to small governments types trying to convince everyone elections are not valid while they are in charge of the government.

I am sure the government will let us know what is valid when the time is right.

Who the hell would vote yes for California's prop 15? WTF!

EDIT (Personal Rant): It seems it is heavily supported by the full Democratic Party machine. Really?! This is why assholes like Trump win. How is taxing property at (highly volatile) market value makes any sense when it comes to keeping business local. How does this discourage companies from migrating to other states and full on out of the US? For f**k sake, there has to be a balance. Shit is going out of control. California already has shit tons of money poured into the Government. It's not only about how much you can get. It's more how the hell you use those funds effectively so you don't need to tax people more. How the hell can people be so dumb as to ask for their government to tax the more, when they are already being taxed plenty! WTH!!!? (Rant over).

That's my one big issue with politics. I lean left but also have plenty right leaning ideals. You can call me a centrist or moderate. Do I want to give my money to the government, no, but I don't have an issue if that money is being spent wisely. Space programs, pandemic preparedness, helping small business, food stamps (I believe with anecdotal information that this has helped family raise themselves out of poverty), etc. When one side goes to far you get a California or the other where most of states population don't believe in wearing masks. Living in Texas you can see both sides of the line. Where before people would reach across (or at least attempt) and work together. Now the electorate is divided and entrenched.

Feels like things are just slowly falling apart.

What "small governments types" are actually in charge of any government anywhere? As near as I can tell, there are NO small government types anywhere near the levers of power, at any level.

So far I was right on the money on FL with Trump winning, but I did not expect the blow-out with the Cubans in South Florida voting heavily for him. This also helped the down-ballot GOP in South Florida as well. That exceeded my expectations.

On the EC, I was expecting Trump to barely get 270, but it appears he is most likely on track for a 2016 repeat thanks for him acting more like an Old-School Democrat at times for the Rust Belt. This also means GOP barely holds onto the Senate (I gave them 51 seats, but it appears they might get 52 or 53 if they pick up that MI seat).

At least I'm not on Social Media, hehe.

Also, I'm pissed off about Florida. The Constitution Amendments.... FL when voting on these Amendments are more left on stuff than what our voting habits can say, which is why I normally say Florida is Center-Right in real life stuff.

The worst Constitution Amendment just got passed in FL: The $15 Min Wage. This means Min Wage will go up until it hits $15 in 2026. In FL it takes 60% to pass a Constitution Amendment. With 99% of votes in, the Yes votes are 60.78%. :mad:Those same super Trump voters in FL who gave Trump a major blow-up tonight were the ones who passed this thing as Yes. Oh man, I don't want to be here when the effects kicks in after a few years.

I really wish I can make this crap up, but I can't.

Of course when a Constitution Amendment is passed our FL Legislators (major GOP) have to put it into law and the Gov to sign it. Well no one supports the Amendment in the capital, but our State Constitution compels them to do it. I wonder how they will attempt to avoid it as much as their can, a Conservative State Supreme Court ruled the Amendment as constitutional. Here some more drama in FL in two months.

Hey, my vote counted! We booted out one of Nancy's understudies in an otherwise blue district.

I was assuming that the last several months would be a net negative with the Latino vote for Democrats but didn't expect it to be this catastrophic for them in the general. There's an interesting tweet from an alleged Democratic party officer who said that BLM initially sank them with Latinos, then when the FL Dems backed away from BLM to try to get back to the center, it made things worse by turning off their core constituency.

Even if both parties lawyer up, this thing feels like it's over. AZ governor is claiming that there's a million uncounted election day votes with maybe 25% counted at most, so that early call from Fox looks questionable.

I was watching livestreams from both parties and the pro-Trump crowd was either relaxed or celebratory all night while the pro-Biden camp was alternating between castigating the DNC's overall strategy and searching for any silver lining they could. The entire The Young Turks livestream chat was full of trolls--to TYT's credit, they kept the chat up while Crowder kept it off.

My favorite part of this week was watching Lil Pump at the Grand Rapids rally. There was a clip of Lil Pump meeting his friends and they were laughing at his MAGA hat, then one of the guys mentioned that no one is saying it but everyone is feeling it.

I still hate that FL Trump voters brought in the California BS on a forced Min Wage to $15. You know how vary COL in FL? It's huge. Just crazy people think too little of short term goals.....

Every tax increase, fee, and bond measure in Santa Clara County passed. Everyone must be financially doing a lot better than I am to have all this money to give out.

But it's for the children and I need to feel special by giving taxpayer money to things that promise to help them...

Never mind that we never get any details about how the money is spent and I have yet to see any gov program or agency (local, state, or federal) with clear and objective or even subjective performance measurements and metrics that justify their cost and existence.

This is actually my biggest issue with most of these things - I do want things to improve and I understand you need to spend $ to get stuff done (within reason), but please, help me consider a yes vote by actually being accountable, transparent, efficient, and effective with the money.... too bad there is 0 to -100 incentive for politicians to actually close or reduce bad programs... "and my opponent mr bob here voted to CLOSE DOWN THIS PROGRAM THAT SUPPORTS CHILDREN OF HARD WORKING AMERICANS HES EVIL!!!!!!!!!"

I have not had cable or over the air TV for a few years now. I noticed that Roku was streaming live streaming ABC news so I just watched about 5 minutes. In that time there were several criticisms of Trump (no Covid testing of his rallies, speaking from the white house, etc.), a recommendation that he follow Biden's lead on how to talk about the legal situation of the next 3 days, and a claim of (implied racist) voter suppression in Texas.

Oh the wailing and gnashing of teeth in the media bubble! Now that the deplorables of this country have not given a 8% landslide to Biden (who might yet win), I look forward to Trump kicking the media in the teeth for the next few days
