Hmm, is my 6P broke? I was down to ~50% battery with 48 minutes of screen-on-time. Battery stats aren't reporting any major battery killers either.

The best I've gotten with my 6P is 3.5 hours SoT. This is while using the phone with ~33% brightness, BT on connected to my smartwatch, and a few email accounts set to sync every 30 minutes (except gmail which is push). Most of the time it's under 2.5 hours before I need to plug in...

Try contact Google service. Normally this is due to some stupid app, but also could be hardware issue.

I have no direct experience with syncing to smartwatches yet, but I have to suspect this as a major factor in your experience. I understand the awesomeness of low power bluetooth, but I would not be surprised if that sync is interfereing with doze and/or related battery measures. This will depend on the watch and which version of android wear (or whatever the hell its called) you are running. You might look at what the battery use reports for bluetooth. You can look in the "Android OS" subsection beneath the battery graph.

Yeah, I'd definitely go for the 32GB. Also depends on how long you intend to keep it, generally there is not much difference in resale value after 2 years as pretty much every device becomes obsolete by then, if you sell in a year then the 32GB will stand you in good stead.

swapped out for a 128GB frost white Nexus 6p. Great f'ing phone. HP out is garbage, but i use the Geek Out V2 via OTG so it's not a problem for me. I really am enjoying this phone. It's the best phone I've used period.

Not sure how many of us are using one of these (or any USB C device), but I thought I would update on the USB C / OTG / GOV2+ issue. (The issue is I don't want 12+ inches of multiple adapters/cables to connect phone to GOV2+, which is a micro b input).

I was previously toying around with combining of these, with one of these, basically by lopping off the female type a and wiring the 4 strands that matter onto the correct connectors on the micro b connector. However, I have been lazy about this due to the fact that I still do not have a GOV2+ (...)

In the mean time: monoprice now sells a usb c > micro b cable, which should function as a direct connection to the GOV2+. I have ordered this and will try with leckerton once it arrives. Will report back.

hopefully it's long enough. The V2+ has the port on the left side I think which is a weird place.

wait, what? you mean the left side of that "bottom" edge, right? I think 6 inches should be enough...

No, the micro USB port is on the side of the DAC. At least it was on the preproduction chassis. Dunno if that changed.

Edit: I'm wrong I think. Will confirm.

CONFIRMED! The $8 monoprice cable works with no hitches on my leckerton. The cable is a little longer than I would want at 6", but that is the entire length, and all usb c connector chassis are kinda large due to the controller required. The actual "wire" part of the cable is only 3.5".

I'm thinking about getting the 6P. I currently have an iphone 5c, which I just had replaced for the 3rd time for different hardware issues. I enjoyed the Nexus 4 that I used to own and would like a larger screen.

    Edit: Ordered 64GB Frost 6P

How is the battery life when using the V2? I've been looking at the V2+, but if the V2 works fine with the 6P I may get that instead.

6P arrived yesterday. The build quality on this phone is fantastic. Definitely the nicest android phone I've played with. I'll have to get used to the large size, but it fits well in my hand and is slim enough to fit in my pocket. Marshmallow seems great so far. I'm looking forward to diving deeper into its features.

The AP stays awake AND you're actively powering the device. Get the v2+

Related question: anyone using a "smartwatch"* with a new nexus or android M? I am flirting with the idea of a notificator on my arm, but I have read several conflicting/confusing reports of connectivity and thus battery issues with (maybe?) doze across android wear and pebble varieties. Given the many inconsistent and sometimes idiotic suggestions for how to deal with it, I cannot discern whether its based on user error or not.

*note: "smartwatches" are still pretty "dumb" in my opinion, not like "bad idea" dumb but "limited application of actually useful features" dumb.

Have a Pebble Time Steel paired with a 5X, no issues here. I have the Pebble app whitelisted (blacklisted?) from Doze, no connectivity issues. I actually have more issues with Google Apps and Doze, where no notifications come through properly unless I specifically whitelist them.

    Thank you! Couple of follow-ups:

Do you have battery drain issues at all?
Are you a user that is always moving, or does your phone actually have a chance to doze during the day?

Haven't had trouble with my samsung wear device.

That being said I have owned it for a long while and have spent two weeks with an iPhone+apple watch and I am not necessarily bought in to the idea that these wearables significantly improve your efficiency/have seriously tangible benefits outside of health related functionality, and even then I prefer the purse health/activity focused solutions.

I am on the fence, but since moving to a MUCH bigger phone, I miss a lot more notices (ahem, calls/texts from wife) due to not having phone on person while at work. I would likely get something like pebble, since all I really need is reliable time piece with notifications and minor interactivity. I have so much Garmin shit I don't even want to think of getting an "activity tracker"
