I've only heard the O/96's at shows powered by Shindo gear, so likely not the best conditions, but they're a very similar sound to these AN's (going on memory, at least). Open and full, a touch warm, but with great dynamics that belie the somewhat simple technologies employed.

@yotacowboy Not really a data point, but I was able to hear both AN and various Devore speakers at High End/hifideluxe this year. I don't remember which AN speaker it was, but it was likely one of the TOTL ones.
None of them really did it for me as I found both colored.
However I agree that they do go for a similar type of sound. I mean the speakers look similar and are similar on paper. Pretty sure I ended up preferring the AN, but considering the price delta I think I should...

I also wanted to share a minor change on my end: 10cm Basotect absorber in front of my TV that I never use anyway. Especially now with the projector.

    Basotect on TV.jpg

It does something for the imaging.
I tried to measure a difference and there did seem to be a reflection that got a little bit less, along with slightly less reverb in general, but overall it was really close. Also I only measured a 200ms T60, which seems really low. Ultimately the sound matters.

I had one of those heaters once, and it didn't sound special at all. Oh, wait.... there's speakers too!

That amp is very cool. Reminds me of the Wavac SET monos that a friend had. One of the top 3 amps I have ever heard.

Here's a pic I took of them from a while back. Click on the image to see it full-size.

I need to get one of those for my LCD HD TV when listening to the system. I'm presently just throwing a large felt cloth that's folded up like four times over the entire screen when listening.

Where can you get them from?

LOL, I expected to be ridiculed...
I'm not sure what the situation is like in the US. Basotect G+ is pretty ubiquitous here. It's lightweight and works quite well. For more than 10cm of depth I think the traditional DIY absorbers with rock wool, etc are probably going to be better due to a lower flow resistivity. Also it gets much more expensive past 10cm.
12.4k for Basotect vs 3-8k for traditional absorbers. Hence why I use wool to absorb the floor bounce for my outdoor measurements:
    http://www.acousticmodelling.com/porous.php
    http://www.whealy.com/acoustics/PA_Calculator/index.html

Anyway, here's where I got mine from:
    https://xb-acoustics.de/produkt/basotect-absorber-mit-fase/
Same product from the shop I got my first panels from:
    https://www.schaumstofflager.de/dec...t-g-schaumstoff-100-x-50-x-10cm-hellgrau.html

Similar products should be available pretty much anywhere, I think. It's just a kind of melamine foam.

I was really confused at first wondering why he had an espresso machine sitting on the floor...

And I thought my amps were too expensive :) They look cool, prob will never get to hear them though.

    :D

Honestly, it did take me several moments to understand the pic! And my heater was, I'm fairly sure (20 years back) also made by delonghi. It made lousy coffee.

Yeah, these were pretty pricey, IIRC. My friend offered to me at one point for $10K.

I probably should have taken him up on them; they are some of the finest amplifiers I've ever heard, along with DarTZeel.

Different configurations of my speaker system:
    FA83B9BA-0671-46F4-B9B1-F82A3D1BE0C1.jpeg IMG_7110.jpeg

I wasn’t sure if the Lii Silver 10s would be too small for my living room but they work better than I’d expected. There’s a bit of a bass hump that I need to kill but it’s tolerable. It has some of the full range center/upper midrange honk but less than my Moth Audio Cicadas used to.

Amp is an Esoteric A100. I haven’t been a big fan of PP tube amps I’ve heard, including the Nagra 845, but this seems to nail the balance I’m looking for with its U-shaped sound that doesn’t go too dry, solid dynamics, and convincing stage.

Preamp is an Oliver Sayes Slagleformer TVC with Tango input transformers and a Type 26 tube stage. It injects a nice bit of density to the low mids that I feel the A100 lacks at times, coming from DHT amps prior to the A100.

Currently using a PS Audio DirectStream but I have a Marcel Van Gevel ValveDAC being built so the DS will mostly serve as a backup DAC. It’s smooth, almost to a fault, but gets out of the way enough. I plan on modding it to hopefully take care of my major issues.

I’ve been looking for a Hydra Z DDC but eventually gave up looking for one and bought an AliExpress clone. It seems to add dynamics and widens stage at the cost of lopping off some nice midrange intimacy. It’s hit or miss with my Exogal Comet but it works fine with the DS.

I’ve also fallen into the fiber to USB trap with those two stacked boxes. I feel it helps with blackground and cleaning up imaging. I second guessed myself because I didn’t fully expect the difference to be so noticeable but it definitely helped enough for me to feel something was off with it removed.

Turntable is a Michell Gyro SE with an Origin Live modded Rega tonearm and Soundsmith Carmen going into a Herron VTPH-1 phono pre. I love it. Only thing I want to upgrade is the arm.

I recently got some Fyne F300s to use in the dining room; they are sitting on the sideboard with my mini stereo.

Initial impressions are: really nice for vocals, enough bass to follow rhythms, a bit hazy. Powered by Schiit Gjallarhorn (over on the left there) and they get plenty loud for the space. I limited the maximum volume in roon to a "comfortable" 40 and an absolute max of 50.

Not an audiophile setup. Plenty nice to play tunes while making dinner. oh! that reminds me... :)

Active 5 way infinite baffles, with subs in the ceiling beam and a fireplace like 50cm next to the speaker and TV.

A few asked about speaker placement, and about some of the gear. Sorry for the clutter. Many of the amps (Quicksilver monos, Sonic Frontiers SF-160 monos, and an Audio Research vt100 that are all serviced , minty, and ready for the next 20 years), are my next round of purging and I was taking photos. I have not tried recording audio but many have asked if I could try.

The speakers are seven feet out in the room from the front wall.

Today has been surreal.. I'm jittery still. It was just an incredible christening with Jon. We listened all day to these beautiful speakers that he built. We discussed what we were hearing and it was just "another world experience for me. He felt the same. We do not bullshit anyone and certainly not each other. We have been at times brutally honest with each other and that's why it so fun we we listen.

Steve Deckert has a winner in this speaker he calls the HDT v 2.
