Yeah, either they fixed the mistake or the sale is done now. Part of me was almost thinking to grab a second one because I do really like it, but that's too irresponsible of me when I don't even have a use for the first amp at the moment since my current speakers are active.

 

Also at Studio Economik: Weiss DAC204 open-box for $CAD 3995, ~ $US 2760.

Maybe not as great a deal as stated, because I see others in Canada for $CAD 4569. However, I see it at a couple of US retailers for $US 3495, which is ~ $CAD 5050.

For anyone looking for a pair of headphones with similar TOTL qualities to the Susvara and selling for around $1k, here's the XK audio Serene. Received it today and sounds just like the Susvara I heard a few years back at Canjam. Resolution, imaging, soundstage size, mid range naturalness, and airiness reminds me a lot of the Susvara. Someone posted short impressions on head-fi but got deleted the same day. Could be had for just under $1k if you're using the Ali express $50-$80 off coupon they give out once every few weeks. Enjoy!

While I don’t subscribe to some/most/any of the approaches in ASR, seeing this does give me pause because there are sometimes hints of truth in everything.

As much as I love-hate HFM, I don’t think it would be right if the Serene is a direct rip off of the Susvara. I wouldn’t get a Susvara at the asking price, and I wouldn’t be getting this at their fractional cost either.

Anyway, you can give us impressions of it and tell us if this is legit (literally and figuratively). Let us know if this is an improvement on the Susvara, or if it’s just the re-shell.
