    A guy is putting his stuff in a bag for a trip to the launderette. He decides to take on the universe by leaving one sock behind and taking an odd number of socks for wash.

    Washing done, he takes his clothes and puts them in the drier. Puts in the coins, presses the button, and sits down to relax with his book. (aside: this was before mobile phones were even thought of.

    Drying done. He opens the drier door. Nothing. Empty. except... one small piece of paper. With some writing on it... Give the universe its sock.
