I used to have the plastic ISOs and they have quite a lot of wobble to them just from how the posts sat in the frames. The aperta don't seem to be significantly different, so I wonder how much more stable they actually are, especially given that I will be right at the top of the weight limit.

I don't need any tilt adjustment, I only need the 3" lift.

Did you have wobble even using the short posts? It won't feel as stable as a rigid stand and there will be some flex and springiness to isolate vibration from going into the table.

thats a good question, I'm still open to explore but the LS6 + sub was honestly something I did not really consider because this came up faster than planned I suppose.
I've been keeping a system change on my backlog as long as possible because we plan to move within the next 6 months. My plan was to take the system I have to the new place and see where i want to go from there, but then the E50s were announced and i've had my eyes on buchardt for a while. Thats how I began to wonder if I should give them a shot, since they also have a nice try at home policy as well

Well apparently the E50 are supposed to have crazy bass for the size (even more that the S400, which I had and which had way more bass that the LS6), so a sub may not even be needed with them if the LS6f have enough for you. I’d start with just an E50 if I were you and see how they do for you.

Yeah they did. The more of I think of it, the Aperta probably isn't suitable for my LS60 and I should look for a solid something to sit on the floor. Right now it's just a two-stack of 2x8's, so I've got an extra 3" lift from the floor which is about what I want.

Yeah I wouldn’t be surprised with getting enough bass from them as is, but did you get more info about them someplace? All I can see are speculation threads and the buy page on Buchardt

    Hi all,

I need a cost effective way to up an RCA out to XLR levels. Need to feed the XLR in of my SPL Phonitor Mini from the TV as its RCA input is being used (quite sublimely) by my Soekris.

    tia!

Curious as to whether you think stone would be better? Like a nice slab of marble or something?

A simple RCA->XLR adapter or cable would do it.
    Example from amazon: https://www.amazon.com/COLICOLY-Female-Male-Cable-Adapter/dp/B07YNMNNZC

In this case I don't believe it would make any difference as the whole assembly is floating on the carpet anyways. It's less about the isolation from the ground and more about clearance from the cabinet corner.

That's what I'm using now but the level is kind of low.

Usual method is to use an adapter (as just mentioned) and up the level.

The proper way to do it. :D

Both of those brands ring a bell as being actually-studio-pro gear. And not too expensive.

I found a Powersoft Ottocanali 1204 locally for very cheap. Still looking into setting it up. What do you feel the Powersoft do better than the others ?

To be fair I only tested one model. An amp by this brand delivered the promises: clarity, slam, normal soundstage, real sense of power. It is not going to put any true endgame class A or AB into shame, but I believe it does better than many and handily beats all Class D I have tested.
The thing with commercial stuff from Powersoft is they all appear to have permanent DSP in front. This limits how much potential the amp section has. Still great for bass.

Luckily this one does not have and form of DSP. It is from their install series, so it only 1U.
While it is very skinny it does weight quite a bit. It was nice to see a positive comment on SBAF about this brand, as it seems very rare to find any subjective opinions about the sound quality.

So this was in fact what I ended up doing...

Actually I didn't even do it myself. I've got a contractor building a deck for me right now, so I asked him to cut some scrap 2x8 and screw it in for me. I'll try to remember to take a picture of the speakers on them tomorrow, but it's practically invisible as the speaker plinth extends slightly over the edges.

I ended up with a ARTcessories CleanBOX. Works a treat, thanks @Metro and @Armaegis.

I saw those $15 Amazon doorstops and wondered if they would have worked for you. Mind can stop thinking!

Now, I'm smitten by the Fischer & Fischer speakers from CapFest.
I love my Phil Monitors but they are big and I'm afraid they'll tumble off the stands and go kersplat.

Anyone interested in talking alternatives to the F&F Klein? a 9x8x6 2-way with external crossover with extension down to 55Hz, according to Germany's Stereo magazine.

I was thinking the SuperMon was an alternative but they monkeyed with its FR to boost the bass artificially. I'll do that myself if I feel the need. T&F Sun is the only other comparably sized thing I know of.
