The room, speakers going by TV. Not ideal but view>acoustics. No creepy dungeon for me.
Source gear all acquired and working! Now it's time for crossovers
Did you get the Bel Canto working?
Hopefully but I haven't tested as I have no speakers to test with right now
^ Dislike!! And you call yourself an audio guy? That’s a disgraceful statement man. A bachelor pad like that with no speakers? For shame.
There we go, all crossover components ordered. Just need to wait until they get here, build crossovers, then SPEKAER TIME!
Got it down to about $400-$500 by using cheaper components. Should still be good, using Solen caps, thats what YG uses. If its good enough for a $100,000 speaker, its good enough for these
Crossover components arrived. Also bel Canto doesn't go into protection mode so I think it's fixed, I'll find out soon.
Will start building crossovers today, hope to have speakers done (other than finishing work) this week
Also set up my source gear, mostly fits right there, amp is a little long but I made it work.
Crossovers mostly built. Realized a few parts shipped later, coming next week. Also ports installed.
Cables received from @dBel84 looking nice
and drivers mounted in the cabinet and wired. Just need a few more resistors to finish crossovers
One speaker done and working!!!! Amp works tooo!!! Finishing other after harbor freight run!!
Congrats, glad that both are working
Done and all working!!
I see Bel Canto's power amp, but what's that (I assume) pre above it?

Next step is a carpet. Trying to find a good 8x10 carpet but so many options.
Also just found a pic of my setup 2 years ago. A lot changed.
Do you have cat(s)? If so, non-powerloomed rugs can become scratching pads. I can give you some pointers (via my wife) for powerloomed rugs.
Nope, no animals to deal with, so I can get something that is thicker and better acoustically
this is going to sound kind of snooty, but now is the time to invest in a good wool rug. which is going to cost about the same as those speakers. But seriously, you're getting to the point that having things like rugs or listening chairs or couches that live beyond 5 years makes it worth the investment to buy for longevity. Buy something from DWR and be happy with a purchase that could last 20-50 years.

Real wool rugs that should retail for $1K and up for about $200
