Verum 1 packaging was questionable for sure. I opted for the kit as well.

I was backer number in the low 300’s for the black kit, which wasn’t a huge deal as we were told that items were being shipped by backer number.

Then it changed to color, not a big deal. Then it changed to color and so many quantities of kits and non kits, instead of color by backer number.

I’m certain this makes sense to someone, however as someone who backed the higher cost of the kit to further support Igor it is extremely frustrating, especially since backer numbers for black in the 500 to 996 range have received their non kits.

@jeromeof Thanks for such a detailed review! Both for praise and criticism. I only want to add that second earpad in a Kit version don't have that 1 khz bump (that I personlly like on variety of music and as I understood you like it too in most scenarious). And it has big round opening. And sure also has bass port. In other words - everything you've mentioned in a review.

What really made my day is this photo:

@Garuspik are you planning on doing the kickstarter exclusive Green Run last?

I waffled between Pearl and KS Green for the longest time, but then chose KS Green because I assumed it would be first (backer 305)...

No. I'm doing such thing: 100 blacks, 100 pearl, 100 green, 100 yellow etc.

Unfortunately a lower backer number doesn’t necessarily mean that it is going out before other orders when it finally comes around to green. I wish you luck, hopefully you will get yours in the first run.

For example backer #8 isn't an early bird backer (and I have 200 early birds and almost all are alredy shipped long ago). Why? I don't know.

Early birds would be first... and I missed out on the Early Bird rewards... so I'm just a regular kit backer. Would I have liked to have guessed right w/ KS Green and get something sooner. Of course. But it ships when it ships, and I'm fine with that

Yeah, it sounds like he's handling it pretty well. Shoutout to @Garuspik!

I received my Verum 2 headphones phones this week.
They took 12 days, were well packed in bubble wrap and arrived in pristine shape.
I've had Fedex take longer from California...

I wanted to replace my Audioquest Nighthawks.
Verum 2 has better bass than the Nighthawks, who's highs were MIA.
The Nighthawks had great comfort, but they are falling apart now.
Nighthawk rubber mounts are disintegrating and there are no spare parts.

In comparison with my other phones, Stax Lambda/SRD-7, Hifiman planars & Sennheiser 6xx,
these are the ones I reach for now.
I've tried them with the Elekit TU 8200, Schiit Asgard 3, and Nitsch Piety amps
using a Schiit Bifrost 2 OG running Apple iTunes local files.
All genres of music I listen to sound great.

The pearl cups are beautiful, even the adjustor parts have a multi-colored sparkle to them.
The grills remind me of the fancy computer fan grills of yesteryear.

I like the solid connections of the wires, and their thickness and length of the cable,
so much less likely to accidentally pull it out of an amp.
No problems with the cords exiting the bottom of the cups, there is plenty of clearance.
The articulation of the headband and the perforation of the leather keep everything
fitting my head cool and comfortable.

The parts quality is exceptional, all produced under extreme circumstances.
    Well done!

    Hello community,

Are the earpads from the Verum 2 compatible with the ZMF Atrium? They look similar in the pictures—thanks in advance for any info!

I insert thin steel ring to make them magnetic.
@Noah LylesBreadLess any round 105mm pad with "lip" will fit.

@Garuspik, all - I received my Verum 2 kit last a few days ago. I haven't had the time to do any extended listening yet, but will share a few observations:
    • These fit extremely well, and distribute their weight very evenly.
    • Both sets of pads that come with the kit are ported, and I think I prefer the more shallow pads for tonality (more organic).
    • It's clear that the drivers are very efficient, have very low distortion, with tight control.
    • With the efficacy of the frame and drivers, there will be some tweaking with pads for sure to dial them in to preferences.
    • They're efficient enough that I can drive them well with FV (with impedance multiplier on).
Much more to follow when life allows.

@MisterRogers Thanks for support once more!

I've decided to make ports in all pads cause this idea simply don't have disadvantages. From ventilation to sound - everything is better.
Will be waiting for your detailed impressions.

    p.s. What is FV?

The FV and Valhalla 3 have that impedance multiplier thing. It won't fix lack of power or low sensitivity headphones, but it will address impedance mismatch issues.

Caldera Closed isn't super sensitive and takes a bit of voltage to drive, so my experience using Valhalla 3 with the impedance multiplier was so-so.

Verum 2 could be more sensitive than Caldera and/or the Folkvangr is more powerful than Valhalla 2 (moar output tubes for current).

On db/Volt Verum 2 is very sensitive on db/mW - medium sensitivity for planar.

Yup. And with ~12Ohm impedance, FVs impedance multiplier goes a long way.
