Manhattan. Didn't remember to take a photograph until it was almost gone.
We have an alcohol ban here due to COVID, but I saw it coming this time and have a decent cache. I'm drinking beer. Smugly.
A new (to me) Japanese whiskey: Togouchi. $43 at Total Wine. Very smooth.
I'll have to look for that next time I'm out.
Cheaper than what I'm enjoying right now, so that's good.
Went searching in my liquor cabinet for Japanese whiskey so I could play, too, but found this instead -- didn't even know I had it.
Taiwanese sherried single malt whiskey. Really dark, really hot. Not really my favorite at first, although the flavor is starting to come out from under the alcohol now that I'm adding water.
My local Total Wine hasn't had Hibiki in for some time. Maybe I need to request it. They do have Toki.
I like the rice whiskey, but I do find myself missing the flavor profile of a Japanese malt I had recently, The Shin:
This is pretty alright. Cheap. A little more expensive than dewars, but a bit better.
New neighborhood, new neighborhood bar. Same old Stagg Jr Old-Fashioned.
A different flavor for your friendly forum alcoholic. No booze for me, ginger beer is as close as I get these days. Highly recommended, it's got a LOT of flavor. Not for the faint of heart.
Black Velvet, a cheap Canadian blended whiskey, and coke. It's hardly the best drink I've ever had, but it gets the job done.
Jack Daniels Barrel proof single barrel 133.3 proof bourbon, with a splash. Not your run on the mill bourbon and not the Jack you wind find in a club or in a coca cola. Old school sipping whiskey...
