For headphone modding, that is.... Or is it all the same?

They're not all the same. I remember once comparing two or three different types of toilet paper/tissue and was surprised by how big the differences were. For a start compare your toilet paper to some tissues. Different applications will require different materials. Also, putting stuff in front of the driver is only a good idea when it is absolutely necessary and you see no way around it.

Charmin Ultra Strong for my butt.

Never used it in a headphone mod.

    Because there's poop on it.

@bazelio You had to know this thread was going to go downhill fast.

Personally, I use what they sell at Costco in Taiwan (for both butt and phones). Not sure if it's the same as available at Costco in N America.

Charmin Ultra Soft, can't stand that abrasive stuff you see at airports and whatnot... In all seriousness, I imagine the comfort factor is totally a thing if you're using it in such a way that it touches your ears. (yes, when mod'ing) Tho I imagine two ply vs not would definitely have a sonic impact... <insert more 2nd grade puns here>

Interesting, his conclusion seemed to be "stop messing around with TP and use DSP"... :p

Toilet paper is disgusting. Who wants to walk around with shit smeared over their backsides?

Whilst I confess that, even after a decade of living in India, I have not mastered squatting and using a jug, I do use a spray, and toilet paper is one of the things I hate about visiting the former country.

I suppose it's ok to use on your headphones.

I use the built-in bidet device on my automated Japanese toilet to clean crap off first, then TP to dry. The built in blower doesn't dry worth shit. When my wife's clients visit from Japan, they insist on being booked into hotels with butt-washing toilets.

Hah ha... here in India we are happy with a thing like a garden hose attachment: in Japan, I gather, this is a really high-tech thing.

Maybe Japanese toilets have the equivalent of audiophiles for music? Are there forums where one can discuss models and upgrades, and whether the stuff that the connecting pipe is made of makes a difference?

I'll never live in UK again, but if I did, I would have to have a spray fitted in the toilet, but imagine... a cold winter's day... ouch! I believe that users in colder climates can get sprays with thermostatic control. That would be nice

Just get a fancy Japanese toilet. Mine came with the house and has a wireless remote, the water stream is adjustable for temperature, strength, and pulsation. It auto flushes and the lid opens and closes automatically as well. Oh, and the seat is adjustability heated.

I live in Taiwan where the latest Japanese tech is pretty prevalent, but these have been around for years. You can also get an add-on seat that will convert any regular toilet. Toto calls them "washlets".

    Demand a double-blind test. Maybe not A/B/X... perhaps A/S/S?

Anyway... wait long enough and Audioquest will probably start selling it.
