    I have a Gungrnig A2 as well, which is permattached to my MJ2. Yggdrasil shines fully with speakers, I feel I leave money on the table with headphones. Gungnir Multibit and MJ2 are made for each other. FWIW, the practical differences for me are about bass (Yggdrasil’s is more realistic, Gungnir Multibit is more fun), and the highs (Yggdrasil is more realistic, Gungnir Multibit can be a bit of a tin can). Vocals are superb in both, imaging is great, etc.

    The MILF flavor seems to be adding space from what I read - holographic steroiditis, while retaining the uncannily natural signature of the OG. Will wait for your comparison (or to hear one myself). But as I said, it’d be hard to dethrone the OG for me. Current rig is the most natural thing I’ve put together - and it’s still cheaper than a McIntosh CD Transport and a light box.

    Quick update: this is happening, most likely in September/October.

    We'll have both finished units and upgrade boards available. It'll be a limited run to see what people think, but I'm open to making it a standard version, since the AD5791 is really not viable for the future, as I've stated before.

    Pricing TBD, but nothing shocking. Maybe a bit more than the MIL.

    Standard, since AD5791 is not really viable anymore; as in this could be the new standard/reference Yggdrasil on the site? Might be good if it becomes standard, that it has a non-confusing name and place in your product line :)

    The gurzillion screws is just part of the fun to me at this point.

    Anyway original Yggdrasil chassis has nothing on Bifrost 1 or some of the other old school Schiit clam shell chassis. Getting all that to line up when reassembling was… fun.

    I know the life of my SFD-1 Mk2 is finite and my other 'nicer' DAC's will never hit the spot that I enjoy with it. (PS Audio DL3 Cullen IV, MDHT Havana PSU/Analog modified (only optical in), and broke-a$$ LH Labs Vi DAC)

    The Metrum stuff that I've heard was really good. I haven't heard anything from Chord that I thought sounded good. The SF stuff sounds good to me also. 16-bit 44.1 has always been fine for me. Heard the DM Covert 2 and just thought it was more of the same from things like my Vi and DLIII

    The thunderdome idea of three or how many every more variants there were of the Yggdrasil made it kind of a fluff piece to me. I want less flavors and more conviction. I don't know if any of the names sound any good or how even it would look in a drop down menu, but my tip of the hat might be Lofn

    I guess I am interested if it has the spacial qualities of a Sonic Frontiers or Timbre of a Metrum + modern advances such as Unison or whatever unique connection is in the future.

    Would USB out for a Pi2AES work as well as a PC USB connection, or is there a road map to optimizing USB into a Yggdrasil?
