    Not sure for the states, but up here in Canada they’ve stopped teaching kids how to read/write cursive! Couldn’t believe it when I heard that. Sad.

    Sadly I don't write enough any more to justify using a fountain pen, but for sure I'm hanging on to my Parker Duofold and Waterman Le Man. Maybe I should look into using them occasionally with an inkwell instead of cartridges.

    Fountain pen was a godsend during grad school. There was a lids down/no phone policy in place so had to take 6+ hours of notes by hand every day.

    I used fountain pens exclusively during grad school when I had to take notes for 3 hours. Now I carry a cheap ballpoint to hand to co-workers so they don't damage my beautiful #6 gold nib fountain pens.

    And @ergopower, there are so many beautiful bottled fountain pen inks. Check out Diamine or Iroshizuko for some astounding colors.
