What the heck with this? Why do people like it? It looks so bad. The worst is when the TV is set to thai or something so you can’t turn it off without stumbling through with Google translate.
The absolute worst looking thing I saw on this was the Aquaman movie. The latest movies look the worst with motion smoothing. Not that any movie looks good at all with it.
Same people that prefer too-low ISO and preternaturally untextured skin I guess? I have no love for motion smoothing but I guess it works well for... spectacle? And shakycam flicks.
I’ve heard the same. I honestly don’t notice much difference for sports but also on many of these TV’s when you go to the setting it literally recommends it for movies.
Yeah, and how many of them are still in display mode? I'll admit I'm a jerk, if I go into someone's house I know relatively well and see a TV in display mode, I'll find the remote and show them what Cinema mode looks like. More than half want me to change it back.
@ergopower I have a Spears & Munsil disc that I've brought out for a couple friends, and just like what happened with you, half of them hated the result. You can lead a horse to water and all that, lol.
