Real talk though, I think the moment you stop wanting things, you kinda just die. Look at what happens to some people who retire for the easy life. Dead in 2 years. Desire is the reason you can already be dead and still live.
Ehhh sometimes I think that guy's teachings weren't so hot. Actually I think he's very wise but I often wonder how many people he expects to succeed... in one life. Probably zero. I wonder if the monks themselves think about that.
That aside, buhddist monks in Thailand used guns for a while. So I guess even they have limits.
Wanting something sets you up for disappointment or an epic crash and burn, but not having something to go for does kinda leave you putzing around aimlessly. The trick is only to want what's not impossible to get! Easy XD
If Karma is a wheel, life is the road. If life is the road then existence is a journey to what? I guess the Talking Heads sang it best, "we're on the road to nowhere..."
LOL ... @Mithrandir41 often mentions Rush (the band), so I thought there was a reference to Neil Peart's lyrics in there somewhere. So I was wondering which song.
Hah, just having a little fun, knowing the fundamental law that all audiophile message boards must have at least 5 active members with extensive knowledge of the Rush catalog in order to remain atomically stable. SBAF still exists, hence one comes to chime in. And all is well in the universe.
