Yaxi pads! After 10+ years of porta pros use, I found them to be a significant and worthwhile upgrade. Cable wise, I did have a buddy who was handy mmcx mod one of my pairs to use a detachable cable, and I find I don't like how they sound as much, maybe I just haven't found the right cable. My favorite pair is the Drop version, the slightly beefier cable seems worth it functionally/sonically.

Ditto on the Yaxi pads.

I have Yaxi pads too. They felt a tad hotter but overall sound and feel pretty good.

...listening, the Yaxis have more extended bass (my flat-head can lie at that end) and maybe treble, and their resolution of low-level info seems better. Go Yaxi.

If the cable breaks, Koss does do the lifetime warranty thing. I believe you pay shipping which costs about as much as a new one anyway though.
