Yeah, it's a mess and I feel awful about it. @Collusion, the cursed loaner's the Moondrop Kato. It was stolen from where I live; this is the first time I've had something stolen at this address. If we can't get a replacement,I'll do the right thing and buy a pair myself to donate to SBAF. I feel bad for the folks after me having to keep waiting to hear it.
For what it's worth, even with signature required my local delivery people drop off packages and leave about 75% of the time. Sometimes they forget to knock. My favorite is when I can hear the package THUNK against my front door. Yes, please throw the box marked FRAGILE.
I've long ago learned that UPS and FedEx drivers have incredible leeway in how they deliver. I still opt for signature confirmation on most packages but I don't always expect them to honor it.
I had 9 large boxes delivered full of all our stuff from Asia. I assumed he would knock on the door with such a big load and I would open my garage. Wife went to leave for work running behind and found the 9 large boxes just left stacked behind her car right outside the garage door.
Yeah, I know. In reality it would have been almost the same to put them in my garage vs where he put them. 5 feet further. That would have required him to actually talk to someone though. Would have cost him another 60 seconds. :|
