@Wilewarer, yes it certainly could be an interesting PC component.

On the whole, PCs are not very noisy these days. even mechanical HDDs are hard to hear and fans/coolers can be bought carefully.

It's still possible to be unlucky though: my PC build of two years ago has a noisy fan on the motherboard. Didn't know until it was too late to do anything about it.

... Probably this plus electronics could be made for a 120mm fan space. I wonder what the cost would be.
