Haha, I suppose it's a mental hurdle where I see vehicles and air conditioning and all the like as being "essentials" whereas audio stuff is all fluff. That said, perhaps framing things that bring joy and peace as "essential" could be the ticket to a better world all around.

Sold my MJ3 but have one on order. Missed it too much. No tube nervosa. Just good audio.

FWIW, I have been using the same tubes in my diy tube amp for past seven years, still going strong. OTOH, I have had to replace some components in that period on my s s equipment.
