    Not Yo Science Review?

Honestly, words are so important. I don't think people understand... that's why they're important...

...what was I saying? Oh... words. The word he should probably have worked into the name instead of 'science', was 'technical.' I don't exactly know how to make that ring-out real nice, but it would at least be fair.

Make it simpler: audiononsciencereview.com. Or better, audiononsensereview.com.

Edit: That's for there, not here, to be clear.

    Well this is new

People should not constantly challenge (the superiority of MQA). Why would one voluntarily be an MQA shill anyways? Pathetic.

Didn't Amir do a blind test on AVS forums. That touted how 24bit 96KHz sounds better than CD quality, but then it turned out he faked everything. Because he seems love shilling AmazonHD over Spotify despite refusing to see if he can tell 320kbps Vorbis.

Just found this where he arguing how DBT are invalid form of testing codecs. lol

    https://www.avsforum.com/threads/level-matching-in-blind-testing.1333083/

I always love seeing how sore they get when someone says Apple AAC is junk & Vorbis is better. Then go quiet when someone shows a track that fails at 320kbps but Vorbis doesn't.

I'm a great fan of double-blind testing --- as long as it is done by others! Others, because it is damned hard work to set up and do properly, and those who are making the claims should be prepared to substantiate them

I don't think it invalidates blind-testing completely, and I'm sure it can be set up for long listening sessions; it's detractors have a fixed idea that it is only for quick-snatch ABX listening and criticise it thus. Long listening is necessary for lossy-codec tests, as fatigue is a genuine symptom.

And if anyone is claiming a difference between lossless compressed formats... they have probably spent too much time at Computer Audiophile.

It easy once you get used to it. It how I found that Vorbis at 160kbps sound transparent to me(99%.

It why Lame mp3 & MP2 video sound great despite being weaker to other lossy codecs.

Not to mention they lash out when told how they work, Even above 384kbps Wavpack's hybrid is quasi lossless hence they say 480 ~ 768kbps is safe to transcode.

your takes are one of the ones I value most. I love your perspective from actual on hand use case. I wish you could hold in some of the labels like "autistic" and "retard".

Macro view - I do agree with your take on the forums (Hydrogen Audio aside, as I am not familiar at all).

I am aware some will label me as sensitive, I'm cool with that too.

Also, there a poster there trying to say $12 IEM can outperform the $280 ER4SR & other headphones by EQ. Ignoring that there other factors on how a headphone is tuned & made. Seem to think THD+N is the only factor on how to judge sound or that not everyone can tell that oh this headphone is 0.85% at 1KHz.

I really didn't think ASR would reach Reddit level trolling. Since a /r/headphones was full of morons touting EQ to fix bad gear under $90, Like Drekya did whenever he posted stuff.

doubtful it was RMAF 2017 when a SBAF Pirate t-shirt photo/video bombed Tyll interviewing Jude, and kept it in final video. Tyll also used the Pirate t-shirt shot in the first pane of video link!

Ilkness and Amir troll just as hard as Dreyka. They hate on the best stuff to shill what they get sell or get for free.

lol it seems like they only sent him one and he reviewed it in mono sitting on his desk?

all he mentions is he cranked it til it distorted and it made a lot of bass, enough to make his desk and chair resonate. so basically reviewing a $2,200 monitor as a boombox. no mention of tone or transient characteristics, how well it does or does not homogenize different recordings, etc.

Like when Amir refused to retest the IFI Zen on mains power and new firmware, Then got immature about it at Reddit.

Impressions over there are junk, Tone/decay/detail/etc are just mocked. Funny how he claims he can tell what level of THD is bad, But never noticed any distortion on his HD650 which can peak at 10% when stressed at 100db.

    He's full of shit.
I can tell the resolution difference and many other technical stuff between a $600 and $750 headphones. A $2500 and a $3500 headphones. Yet I have a hard time telling bass distortions below %8! (~0.6% for other frequencies).

And yet he and his idiotic cult swear by multiple 0 measurements and call other technical stuff BS and placebo? wut???.

How can they hear the very small and inaudible distortions and not being able to hear other simple technical stuff that are much easier to hear? you know why? because ScienceJesus can't show them the way.
Once measurements will be able to measure the other technical "audiophile" stuff they will suddenly start to hear them!. I bet my life on this!.

SBAF has always believed in proper measurements though. Hell it's one of the reasons I love this forum. I'm not sure there will ever be any new or "other" measurements that will change their(ASR's) way of thinking.

His gang tried fighting me they could tell a Grado SR225e/ER4XR every time, But when ASR shifted to Speakers they had a 12 page thread them upset most high end speakers can be quite high for distortion. They don't even understand(or wilfully ignore) that the average music consumer(most audiophiles) might not have the ear to tell a <0.2% LCD2C from a 1.35% ER4XR, They just focus on how great it sounds and go back playing music.
