    You guys have to understand, this site is so much BIGGER than Changstar. From where I sit, I hear about EVERYTHING. Someone will always tell me about something. I see a lot of suffering (uncontrolled desire) over this audiophile crap which has resulted in lost friendships, shady behavior, mental meltdowns, etc. If you can easily afford it, no problem. But I am seeing A LOT of unhealthy behavior. Don't mistake my candor or unwillingness to console for lack of compassion.

    I know. I have had a couple of close friends that have just gotten into the hobby because of coming over and listening to my stuff. They both started running around buying stuff before I could warn them about HF. Bought some good value stuff off eBay. Didn't get ripped off. Bought some other mid-fi, lower-if that didn't synergize well with the rest of the chain. At least they listened and went with some HD600's. But I have warned them to watch their budget because it can really cause you major issues. Borrowing money to buy gear, then not paying it back etc. So far so good. But it can become addictive in a bad way. I keep telling them, you can put together a really great sounding setup for not a lot of money. Just research, take your time. It's that last 5 or 10% to the ToTL that just ruins it if you can't afford it.

    Nobody is alone in terms of suffering. No one has a unique circumstance. I'm not making any one person an example. If it happened to you, then the same thing happened to at least a few other persons.

    You see, this is why I like bargains in the audio world and encourage people to be content with what they have instead of chasing the BIG-MAN. Life is already hard enough. Why increase stress?
