Thanks to Matrix USA rep (Arthur), we are able to have an Element X on tour.

    You all know the drill:
    • UPS/FedEx only; insure to $1500, signature required.
    • 5 days per member (*this may be slightly extended given the many functions of the Element X). Impressions required on relevant thread (I'll update this with a link if a thread is made).
    • Friends only; contributors will be considered after deliberation with the council.
User manual can be found here.

Assuming this has the same DAC magic as Matrix X Sabre Pro I would love to hear this since I missed out on that loaner.

Always up for trying out a new DAC, especially one that ASR calls " the best DAC I have ever measured"...

    Location is Rocky's hometown.

I think the Element X has the same DAC section as the X-Sabre Pro, so they should sound pretty much exactly the same. As someone with a X-Sabre Pro, I do plan on comparing that, but mostly am interested in checking out the other functions.

Just as an update; I have the unit and as of this post am trying to make sense of the crazy options this thing has. It's plugged in. Tour order will be determined soon, probably will have last call for any more interested parties (will cap at 10 ish).

Tour order finalized, will go out Monday (order chosen due to tour end's proximity to the USA Matrix Rep). @Clemmaster please PM me your shipping info.

@ChaChaRealSmooth @mscott58 in light of how different the DAC sounds with it being fed 88.2/96k would you guys be ok if I could hold onto it for a few more days so that @HitmanFluffy can hear it again?

Thought I'd mention here that from talking to Arthur, Matrix is aware of the issues detailed here in @ultrabike's measurements and in our own impressions thread. They're rolling updates out on the firmware side, so if you hear anything strange from the unit it's worth downloading the Matrix remote app and updating the firmware on the unit (I forget if this is possible using the Windows driver; I think I might have done it that way originally).
