Not necessarily the case here, but sometimes adding vent holes will actually decrease cooling. It's counterintuitive, but thermodynamics is funny that way.

Looks terrific, Allan.. I might need to commission a WHAMMY build from you :) Love the recessed RCAs too.

Long time lurker here, decided to post pics of my recent Whammy build. I'm echoing AllanMarcus' impressions on the Whammy. To me its quite airy but does have that solid state crunch to it. Fun build, nothing to fiddle with like bias and offset. The only thing left is putting an LED on the power button.

I really like your case. Is that off-the-shelf?

Those look like the cases I used when I built my Hifimediy TK2050 amps, back in the days.

I can't remember the name, though...

I use a Bifrost and it works well with the Whammy, so the Modi should work well too.

I used both a Modi 3 and a Modi Multibit when I had the Whammy. Which you prefer might come down to what opamps you rolled since it does make a difference in the circuit.

Alrighty, I got this amp today, and it sounds amazing! Currently I'm running with no DAC, just RCA to 3.5mm cable, but still sounds really good. The first thing that struck me was its dynamics. Obvious better then say Valhalla 2, and even WA6-SE (previous amps ive owned).

I guess none of my image links work. Can anyone help with sorting that out. They are just imgur links so seems like it should work.

You provided the link to the Imgur image page, not the actual .jpg.

So...https://i.imgur.com/rZ0thNo.jpeg is the link you want, not https://imgur.com/rZ0thNo

Into the 'Image URL' dialog that comes up when you click the icon next to the smiley on the SBAF posting screen's toolbar, insert the URL from the imgur 'Direct Link' box.

If that doesn't work, just copy & past the imgur URLs as text.

Edit: As per @Azimuth 's post.
