I went there too (and all five of the Na Parks) on my recent trip. Here's my DHP pic. Yours is much better

Was able to finally visit Iceland, albeit just for 48 hours as an extended layover on the way home from a couple weeks in Europe. Got super, duper lucky and was able to grab a few decent shots of the Aurora Borealis while on an excursion booked by my wife. I say super duper lucky because the KP index was only a 2 and there was a ton of cloud cover (it had snowed that afternoon). Our guide drove like an absolute maniac, but he really knew his stuff. It took almost 2 hours of driving around in the middle of the night, but we finally got this:

Faint, but pretty clear. We moved on after a bit of freezing our asses off (I have never experienced wind chill like that and I have lived through polar vortexes in Chicago). Happy I got a picture since it wasn't looking good for us at first, but a little bummed it wasn't cooler. Then our dude swerves off the road and starts shouting about how good a feeling he has. We got out and were greeted with this:

I am so excited we got something this magnificent, but bummed that the wind was so strong I couldn't get a perfectly focused/still shot. Still, this made everything worth it and a trophy pic for me, especially since I wouldn't even consider myself a hobbyist quite yet (still very much noob). The wind almost toppled my tripod twice, so when I go again, I am going to get something heavier, or use some weights to stabilize my travel tripod (and use a remote trigger maybe).
One more bonus shot from our way back into town after he pulled over one last time. I like this one because it has good color, but also some really clear stars.

I cannot wait to go back now that I understand the weather and even my camera better now (I was trying to treat the aurora like regular astrophotograpy with long shutter speeds and low iso, but it works better with shorter exposure times and higher iso to capture the details and movement. A lot of shots have great color and light, but just a big blob since the aurora moves so much). I was fumbling around with frozen fingers trying to set manual focus while also trying to not have my gear blown into a ditch, so better preparation (and continued luck) should help me get even better pics in the future.

Sorry for the narrative accompaniment, but I am so very pleased with being able to get even just a few shots, I had to babble. A dream come true as an amateur trying to get better at photography.

 

It is really tough to get a good shot, and it sounds like you picked a good tour! My wife & I went in December and had a fantastic time. We booked a whale watching /Aurora tour where you go out in the day then back out at night.

The Whale watching was the highlight & might be my favorite photo despite being a mere cell snapshot.

We had less luck with the Aurora despite having a pretty clear night. Edit: I don't recommend the boat tour for the Aurora. They never leave the bay so there's too much light pollution IMO. We were able to see it, but it wasn't very dramatic....less dramatic than this crappy shot:

Most of the folks here seem to have the best luck with Imgur. It's not ideal for quality, but it's at least relatively hassle free.

 

I almost never get imgur to work....

Is Mobile the issue!?

 

Not sure but the same buttons show up for me on mobile. Just a matter of it being more annoying to copy the actual image URL. Also just in case there's a misunderstanding I was apologising earlier for the excessive brevity cuz I was busy with other things and just on my phone (I'm a lot less fond of typing a lot on mobile cuz it makes my hands cramp, not that I can't manage if need be but still sucks)

 

It turns out that the new Kentmere 200 has a lot less latitude than you'd expect from black and white negative print film. It clips dramatically, producing a wild glow, almost like a mist filter. While that's probably a bummer if you're trying to take a documentary-style portrait and slightly over-expose, it can actually look quite exciting on more free-wheeling types of shot. That's what's going on here.

It's weird, as Kentmere 100 is as tolerant as a family Labrador. I can see that I'd need to spot meter highlights and not be a massive slacker if I want to use K200 to take "sensible" shots though.
