So I’m watching an interview with Boy George who is affiliated with The Voice here. Richard Wilkins asks the usual questions; how’s your health, love life etc. Boy George replies; at his age, a nice, hot cup of tea is just as good as sex. You know what? I’m 65 and I agree with him. Mind you, I burnt my cock a few times dunking it in. The first time, I screamed - wife forgot the sugar - sensitive prick.

 

What's Michael? which is a funny cat gag manga (comic) from the 80s. Of course they had to do this subject.

This reminds me of another stunningly ignorant ad slogan...

In the early '70s I was living in NYC, a time when junkies were everywhere. I knew a little about their lifestyle and lingo; mostly because I'd read a lot of William S. Burroughs' fiction.

At that time a Motorola subsidiary, Quasar, sold lots of TVs in the U.S. Around then Quasar came out with a new TV campaign: "Works in a Drawer." It referred not to a junkie's needle, spoon & tie-off strap in a drawer, but to TV electronics "conveniently" stored in a drawer, easier to work on and/or replace.



Anyw, the 1st time I saw one of these ads I fell over laughing. I guess the folks at Quasar hadn't read "Naked Lunch" or "Junkie."

 

@Pharmaboy this reminds me of my nephew coming home to to tell me about Happy Harold the talking giraffe which visits schools here in Australia. On this occasion Happy Harold was there talking about the dangers of drugs. Of course foolish me incurred the wrath of the wife by pointing out that a talking giraffe was not so much a warning about drugs, but a sneak preview.
Which also reminds me of the time we took one of the little nieces to see Beauty and The Beast. After we came out, I asked the niece if she’d worked out the moral of the story. Immediately the wife gave me a warning look. Nevertheless I felt obliged to point out to the 8 year old, the obvious moral of the story; which is that it doesn’t mater if you are extremely ugly, have horns and atrocious breath - if you own a castle and lots of money, you still get the spunky chicks. I’m a good uncle.
