It seems the Verum sounds most balanced with pads that aren't too thick and/or with a large angle to them? Or, perhaps, at least for those of us more fond of the HD650. :)

Awesome! I also really like the previous proto pads. They were similar to the Dekoni pads I settled on.

As long as the pads are spacious and deep enough so my ears aren't touching the baffle/driver cloth, I'm happy :)

It seems that you're right about thickness. Still not sure about angle pads - most reviewers preferred flat pads. Those Dekoni pads are also flat.

That's my concern as well. I'm not Dumbo-eared or anything, but I've got larger than average ears and I'm not a fan of my ears constantly pressing against the baffle.

I was a little unclear in that I assumed a lesser angle or flat would be better than a large one.

    Thanks. What's next? Building 500+ Verum 1's.
About electrostatic headphones - i've built one prototype and I can easily tell that it was superb. But... I realized that I can't make construction simple and in case of commercial success there is a big chance that i'll have huge problems with quality and consistency. So I've switched to isodynamic technology.
Right now I have several ideas of improvement to Verum 1 and concept of orthodynamic driver that would be ~1,4 times bigger then Verum 1 in cup of the same size. But I forbid myself to work on next model before delivering what was promised and won't make any changes to existing headphones.
All reviewers received same Verum 1 and if they say they're good - so be it. All other backers will receive same units only a bit more lightweight. Sometimes improvements can only harm.

Thanks. Never heard of them but I think it's Russia and I'm quite sure we have very different price policy ;)

I'd say it is Moscow, based on their contact and delivery info from the website. Despite there is nothing about pricing on the website most pads are for inexpensive headphones. So pricing may be not so bad. Still work force cost probably 3 times more comparing even to Kiev and most likely you will not make pads in Kiev.

I think "the grumpy cat" aka @purr1n is referring to manufacturing process not development and in that regard i agree with him. Everyone input has been beneficial but come on...you live in the Ukraine, which most of us know little about, much less regarding manufacturing.

Edit - But i do like to see that this community is so much into helping you in any way, shape or form. I like this feeling of camaraderie, that i only find here (regarding the interwebz).

Hi, sorry I've forgotten to say "THANK YOU" to SBAF after the end of campaign. According to KS dashboard I have about 40 backers from this forum.

p.s. I've just found headphones with very similar headband design!

Sorry, how did you manage to link accounts? Just by name? Or I missed something and SBAF members were supposed to announce themselves somehow?

I was just thinking the same thing. I don't remember anything about that when I pledged.
