[WTB] Cheap-ish Tube Amplifier to Pair with Verite

Hello folks. Those of you who have seen me post recently will know I love the SW51+ - sadly, the unit I got was defective and, since I'm not much for soldering, I requested a refund from the head-fier who sold it to me (I'm fairly certain they're not an active member here). They insisted that I broke the amp and refused to give me a refund, and so now I'm in a situation where I have no amp and need to find one to pair with the Verite I recently purchased, while I try to recoup the money I lost through PayPal resolution. Perhaps Zampotech could fix the SW51+ for a fee (and I will quite possibly look into that), but I'd still be without an amp for some time.

Anyways, I'm wondering if anyone here has an amp they could sell me for around 400-700 dollars that synergizes well with the Verite Open. I'm thinking of the following few amps:

SW51+ (Yes, I'd buy another - I loved the sound - and I'll sell the other to a fellow SBAF'er once its repaired!): $450
Mjolnir 2: $600
Feliks Audio Echo or Elise: $400 for Echo, $700 for Elise
ZDT Jr: $315
Cavalli Tube Hybrid: $100

If any of these prices are unfair or need to be adjusted, let me know. I didn't do extensive research into their used pricing, besides pricing the SW51+ pretty high in the hope that someone would bite .

Bummer to hear about the issues you are having with that used SW51+. I think I saw the listing you purchased from, I was pissed to see that someone was selling one on Head-fi, the SW51+ is for this community!

I realize you are looking for a tube/hybrid amp, but I have really enjoyed the Asgard 3 with the Verite Open. I bought it to hold me over until I receive my SW51+, but I have actually enjoyed it so much that I am tempted to keep it for a 2nd rig. That being said, I would be happy to sell it to you since you are in need of something. Let me know.

 

@dematted sorry to hear about your sw51, not sure what the issue is exactly, but I'd definitely PM @Zampotech about it. He's one of the nicest people I've interacted with on this forum (even back when I was a rando). I know he also recently helped out @Lyander with his broken ZDT Jr. so I'm sure there's hope for you as well.

Yeah, I'm just concerned about the need for a step up transformer, haha. Haven't used one of those before, but thanks for the input .

 

I knew there was a reason I hadn't suggested it earlier. I'm using a cheap Amazon 220/110 voltage transformer for a european espresso grinder at my shop, works fine but I would probably have nervosa if it was an amp.
