It has been a long while since I have heard this album and because of streaming licences it is very difficult to find a good version of this...but...obscure jammin' Jimi Hendrix cover, half of Pearl Jam, half of Soundgarden...McCready, Ament, Cameron, and Cornell (MACC), leads to one head bobbin', foot tappin' track.

Today marks the 7th anniversary of CLC's debut. They've effectively be disbanded for several years now, but two more members left today, free from Cube's clutches.

But I'm listening to all my favorite CLC tracks this morning, RIP CLC

Too bad a lot of compilation albums and such get hung up on all kind of rights for streaming and such.

I almost forgot about this one as well. Who knew the Spin Doctors had this in them?!

    The freakin' Spin Doctors?!

Sitting in a bar in Brighton, MA in 1975 listening to disco hits roll out of the jukebox, one after the other. For me disco was OK (sometimes way more than that) but it was killing jazz in real time, which undercut my enthusiasm.

Then out came David Bowie's FAME. That tune really surprised me. I didn't like Bowie, owned none of his recordings, expected nothing from him. FAME blew up that mindset in a little over 4 minutes (not the last time this happened w/me & Bowie). I love FAME to this day...

John Lennon is singing backup vocals, which only made me like it more.

I listen to this time to time, I just find it so beautiful. Never searched for it on streaming sites as the visual appeal far exceeds the need for lossless.

Finally getting around to listening to The National Cherry Tree Vol 3, which was recorded live at Stubb's Bar-B-Q, Austin, TX, October 11, 2018. Probably my favorite Cherry Tree release yet. Sounds very very good, in that it sounds super real and visceral. Tons of space, energy, and ambiance to the recording.
