Finally got my 2nd PB-1000 integrated into my HTR. Even my wife noticed the difference, the PB-1000 is SVS' value offering but I'm thrilled! Jan 26, 2018

Hmm, this makes me wonder if having a <Sealed-design> (also) in our L/C/R front-speakers, themselves, (for a HT setup), would also make any logical sense? You know what I mean?
Like for a better / tighter fit (closer to walls) w/ more positioning choices & therefore, simpler room integration & also having less need for Acoustical Panels or maybe ONLY for First/Ceiling Reflections, w/ a thick/absorbent Rug. Thoughts?

Flat Acoustic panels, rugs, furnishings will do nothing for bass frequencies. There is also really no issue with placing a front ported SUB in a corner if you are employing eq. SUB eq will do an adequate job with pulling down peaks but there is nothing you can do about nulls.

DSPEAKER actually recommends corner loading a single SUB to minimize nulls and allow the eq to pull down peaks. If your room is 2000 cubic feet or less a pair of sb1000 in the front stage would be great. Especially with decent eq. (Arc, xt32, direct, antimode, mini dsp etc.)

Was ready to get a new HP and tube amp but "tyranny of choice" has made me order a 2nd SVS PB1000 for my home theater instead.

I heard that dual SVS Subs are a good choice for the price. But just watch out w/ reading all those Amazon Reviews... TONS of fake positive praise out there, same w/ Klipsch Subs/products.

I do sometimes want to go back to a sealed (instead of a ported) Sub design; since my old M&K was somewhat tighter & more accurate, but didn't hit as hard/powerful, down low.

Also, as I understand it, having dual Subs, leaves the HT user less dependent on room treatments, especially w/ proper symmetrical positioning.

I've lived with my single PB-1000 for about 4 years now and have really enjoyed it corner loaded with an antimode 8033. I recently upgraded my HTR to include ATMOS and figured I may as well "complete" my room.
IMO the PB-1000 is worthy of all the praise it receives. Sub 20hz at $500!

Since my last profile post the HP-3 is now 20% more expensive and the 660s is getting some less than favorable reviews. AEON Open?

I think the biggest thing is, if your goal is "something different" and you've got a MrSpeakers planar right now, a Sennheiser dynamic fits the goal better than a different MrSpeakers planar.

Thanks for your comments. What I really need is a different flavour and a vali 2 and 6xx seem like the most logical choice.

Verkkokauppa.com (located in Jätkäsaari) has easily the largest inventory of headphones in Helsinki. It's basically a mega-store for everything gadget-related. They usually have good prices too. Kruunuradio in Kruununhaka sells Focal (Ether, Utopia), by the way.
