I am not about to drag 80lb speakers halfway across campus. Maybe some other time though, once they are more completed and I eventually build a new cab for them, I could use the anechoic chamber and SPL meters. They also have a dummy head that would be cool to use for some headphone measurements.

Can you do binaural recordings with the head?

I think, I believe it does have a mic in each ear.

Do you get the opportunity to just sit in that anechoic chamber? That would be an interesting experience!

I have not been in it for too long, but it is interesting. So quiet. A bit unnerving.

Supposedly if you sit in the dark in a really well done anechoic chamber you start hallucinating really badly. Scary stuff.

But, it could be that you start hallucinating really goodly!

I'd like the chance to find out. But I probably never will. @spwath, on the other hand, it seems... might! :)

Yeah. There is also the less scary reverberation room, where everything just echoes for so long. Still silent though if you don't move.

And we confirmed that in the anechoic chamber, with small distances, and outside, with large distances, there is a 6db drop for every time distance from source is doubled.
