I had a cheap IC cable that gripped the RCA connector of my Creative Titanium HD so hard I ended up ripping the connectors on the sound card.

That's the reason I gave up on the cables. I would have to really force it into the AF sockets, and I'm not willing to risk it. I probably already scratched the interior of the sockets a bit without using much force.

I would recommend Neutrik plugs, reasonably priced and the quality is hard to beat.

2nd @LetMeBeFrank suggestion about Neutrik. Studio and Live Sound standard. They are made with correct mechanical tolerance and electrical properties.

I've tested a few expensive plugs like Furutech,Xhadow and Neutrick doesn't loose on anything. I always use Neutrick for my most expensive cables.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. The cheap plugs were from a cheap XLR cable I bought while waiting for my cables to get back from repair. I'll have proper ones on my main ICs for sure.
