The old one, just finished, says "Best before March 2009." I wonder how long this one will last. (It was actually prety good in March 2019!)
What, eat ten-year-old marmite? or eat marmite at all? We all get good things in the post, right? Just sometimes, they might be a bit different ;)
So be it, y'all probably feel the same about some local dishes I love haha. Ducking around revoked XD
Guys, something terrible has happened :( My Marmite arrived: the jar was smashed. I'm devastated. Trouble is that it is not as easy as just going to a local shop. Not that easy to get in this part of the world.
@ufospls, I have a very low-sodium diet. I never add salt to anything, in cooking or on the plate (ok, a tiny pinch to scrambled egg). I think I can manage a couple of slices of marmite toast here and there!
Stress levels increased! ...Until I have an unbroken jar in my hand. Amazon are mostly pretty good. Fingers still crossed. I'm slightly surprised they still make the jar out of glass!
All is well with the world! A new and unbroken jar of Marmite stands on my kitchen shelf! It was packed much the same way as the previous one: I guess it got lucky.
It's not as nice as the old Marmite. I think there may be two possible reasons for this.... 1. Things just never are. 2. The last of the old Marmite had spent years in the jar, and may have become more concentrated. But hey, it's Marmite :)
