I've been listening to the HD600/650 for weeks before this arrived. to hear the contrast. The Senns still win in vocal sweetness and cohesiveness sadly,

The Aeolus beat the Senns in terms of stage depth, imaging, and bass impact. This hits crazy hard and low for a dynamic.

I am very satisfied. But I would go back to the Senns for pure vocal. The King is still alive and kickin'.

Damn this is a fast driver. Keep up with complex passages much better than the Senns. The Mogwai does better in taming the vocal aggressiveness.

Btw, Is it normal if the drivers rattle when you shake the cups?

Give it a week or two.

Zach's tpe and bio drivers ain't as stiff as the be one in Veritè but still open up a measure over the course of 100-150 hours.

Playing white noise overnight for a couple weeks made a big difference.

IME some drivers actually need a bit of work to "break in". Don't think that'd explain the rattling sound, which is a tad concerning. Are you sure it's something IN the cups and not the headband assembly etc?

Edit: Aeolus was TPE and not biocellulose. Whoops.

The rattling sound has nothing to do with the break-in. I think what they meant was the sound.

I asked the dealer. He tried it with an Eikon. He said he heard the same rattling sound. Just shake the cups gently. You'll hear it as if the drivers can move around in the cup.

Yup, just figured the SQ-related tangent was worth commenting on. As for rattling in the cups this is the first I've heard of it, but it could be my memory acting up again :))

Curious if any other Aeolus or Eikon owners have experienced the same?

Could be. I just tried it on the Atticus and couldn't really tell.

Thanks. Let me check with the dealer. This is weird. He said his Eikon rattles too. Even as I'm wearing the headphone, if I move my head left and right, there is a sound.

Are you sure it's the driver and not the headband and forks? Because those do click and clack.

The sound comes from inside the cups. Like the driver can move around when I shake it.
