I really like Gotham Cables for speakers but I wish I didn't have to pay import tax from Switzerland on them. Dec 7, 2018

Nah, import from Switzerland to Italy. CH doesn't have a trade agreement with the EU yeh.

I had to look up what that is. I don't even own any...just a pair of waterproof shoes. I will probably break out my winter boots this week though.

Hah yeah I don't miss spending half the winter in a constant flood state, or the air raid/close encounters sirens every other night.

Venice high water sirens are weird xD

Omega CAMs are here. Anyone know where I can get good (heavy) stands made in EU?

I can get ISOs but with widebanders on an unstable base like a desk you want to mass load the stands as much as humanly possible.

We'll see, I found a company in italy that makes fillable welded steel stands so I'm going to get a quote.

I thought about going to a local place that does stone countertops to see if they had smaller leftover pieces they could make into a platform for my subwoofer. Don’t know if they’d do something like that for your speakers. Might cost a mint though, not sure.

Carrara, as in Marble of Carrara, is like a half hour drive away, but from my experience getting countertops made it would take 2-3 months to have the goods made because Italy.

@rlow right. Saga has 2 pairs of SE outs so each Vidar gets 2 left or 2 right, split for tweeter and woofer. Cheaper than good trasformers, and cheaper than running Freya at night playing ambient music while I sleep :P

Hmm ok. So one channel to the woofer and the other channel to the tweeter. Seems like a bit of a waste since tweeters don’t need that much power, so not sure you’ll get the full benefit of dual Vidars. But it will still sound fantastic if my single Vidar running them is any indication. Enjoy!

Holy crap, I didn't even know about the TR-90 before now. That's a bit confusing.

First thing that came to mind was the Fostex TH500RP, which looks like the basic TH body, save that it's open-backed with planar drivers. I guess the ___RP designation is for planars (e.g. the above or T50RP), while TH-___ is for... no idea. The TH line has had detachable cables before in the 900 mk2 and 610. TR for "removable"?

Massdrop TR-X00 and TH-X00 only differ in the removable cables. And the connection is inverted polarity from the HD6XX cable, with deeper insertion (shallower shoulders). Use the Furutech FT-2PS-F (note the F) connector if you can find them. Otherwise the normal FT-2PS(R) can be filed down to fit properly.

@westermac one from strlingengine.co.uk on the expensive side, but they're made precisely enough to run on body heat; 15c temp difference is enough. I have a cheap one but it couldn't quite run all the time.
