That's lame. I've been really hoping they would end up doing an HD8XX, something along the lines of the resonator mod combined with their tuning and any of the other credible mods from the community (not up on the hd800 mods, never owned them). Was going to be my excuse to finally try them out, haven't ever heard any of the hd800's.

They’ve been doing this with the “Brand Spotlight” thing. They were selling a bunch of standard Victorinox stuff last week and they were setting up the Sennheiser brand spotlight then.

The HD820 has the most bonkers FR I’ve ever heard in a “high end” headphone.

I have no first hand experience with this series of Sennheisers, but it did not take much research to know that I should steer clear of the HD820s. I do confess that when I first heard of Drop's new Sennheiser initiative, my wish was for an HD8xx that did for the OG HD800 what the HD6xx did for the HD650. Instead Drop is now just another dealer, but using an artificial scarcity technique to drive sales.
