Tell me about it. I guess that's about par for course with em cuz they're apparently running through a bunch of applicants but I put on a nice button-up for nothing haha.
Haha, fair enough, getting all gussied up did help get my head facing the right direction at least. This is actually for a full-time job; the working remotely is a temp thing while the virus is still getting sorted on this end so I'll have to polish my people skillz again. FML :))
Did you try to zoom out. 70mm, 80mm, 100mm, 105mm, 135mm or 150mm and beyond? Go in with zero fucks but keep a professional mask on. Adjust your babelfish to professional vocabulary.
Haha, unfortunately I'm about as good as keeping a stern facade in person/via speech as I am in text, that's to say while I can be formal I'd rather be myself around employers since keeping a mask on for long is ridiculously difficult— may as well be forthright from the get-go!
And thanks Thad! There's one I'm vaguely confident about landing but it'll be a mix of content writing and chat support. Basically a rehash of my old gig before grad school. Pay is significantly better than the old job though, which is lovely.
