I'm too lazy to really learn an instrument so I get around that by singing. I'm nowhere near decent but there's something about the breath control and leaning into the minor adjustments you make to produce certain effects, and the sense of power when belting out without restraint, that feels really awesome.

I sometimes think about learning to play guitar (ELECTRIC) once I get the kids out of the house... that would be cool.

I know that I would be insufferably mediocre at whatever instrument I picked up. Pretty happy listening to others' successes.

My attempt at being a music student was fun, but success very limited. And with the moody clubs, it's when /they/ want, not when you want. Except, of course, the club called home :)

One upon a time I played jazz trumpet. Wasn't great but serviceable. My calling was on a different path but it gives me great appreciation for musicians with stellar abilities. Learning even a little is worthwhile.

Strongly agree! And learning just for fun is worthwhile.
