Super colossal oversight to build a superyacht too tall to get out of port.

Probably would have been faster to dismantle the masts too...

Because he’s a huge douche canoe who makes penis shaped spacecraft. Probably out of envy. (I can just hear it - “I don’t care if it’s technically unsound! I’m paying the bills, and I want it to look like a huge dick!”) Oh wait, did I say that out loud?

Given the size of this thing - and given that the next smallest yacht out there has two diesel engines - why even bother with the sails?

Or is all this part of a cunning plan: spacebezoships = more global warming = more of the hurricane-force winds needed to power him to his secret Dr. No island?

Either way, a great way to spend $485m.

Finally caught up with this news story. The boat is new, for delivery. As yet it has no masts but they want to fit at the yard as they say hard to do elsewhere.

If they let him do it (not yet given) then the whole dissasembly and restoration will be completely paid for, and the bridge is not actually in use.

But sensitivity is because it is a major and historical landmark. And... Bezos

am i missing something or was the yacht moved without masts? if so, what's the butthurt? It sounds like its a point of pride for the shipbuilders to have something that's too big to move to delivery port. Or are we just hating on rich people?

I think ship builders and marine architects, etc, are super-skilled, highly professional people. This company is used to building big, expensive, boats. Maybe it's odd that this wasn't sorted out from the start. Overlooked? I'd suspect that they have a department that sorts this stuff out.

And Netherlands... sometime back in history, Britannia might have rules the waves, but now surely it's Netherlands. Those people live water, canals, ports, ships. Would think this vessel would be a thing of national pride.
