    Ahh... so sadly true.

And, apparently, he was the one who hated the whole idea, and was terrified. He was the one who was right.

Except, now that the thing has fallen apart, everyone is coming out of the wood work telling how they knew it wasn't safe.

That is the only part that bothers me. Father and son bonding is great. Bonding doing something with a significant risk of mutual death not so much. I don't think they really understood the risk. They probably needed to use the word death more death often death in death the death waiver.

@HotRatSalad I would always rather to do something dangerous for lots of money than to do something difficult or tedious for a regular income. Show me where to sign up for the Lego submersible trials.

I guess you have to run your own --- in the bathroom. Take care and stay safe! Baths can be dangerous places.

It boggles my mind the resources that were spent to try and find them, only because it was The Titanic.

The expedition was "because Titanic." I don't think that the rescue operation was. The rescue operation might have been mounted even if they had gone to some ocean depth entirely lacking in famous wrecks.

How much was "because billionaires?" Is another question. I try not to be *too* cynical!

@joch I too only just read of Ms Feinstein's death. Oddly, one often becomes aware of what people did when they were alive, when they die. But still, perhaps she should have quit when she was ahead
