using small input tubes in a 6 figure headphone amp is ballsy

I've seen and heard a few "boutique" headphone amps in the $40k-100k+ range before at a few hi-fi stores overseas before... Let's just say that most of them felt more like a game of "how much will someone pay to show off to their friends" than "make good sound". Two of the amps did sound REALLY good though, better than anything production or custom I've heard here.

JJ tubes in the 100k amp made me laugh.
