Having just gotten suckered on a cheap TT2, I'm more than suspicious. I reached out to them and asked for two photos with the seller's name and the date. They sent then, but I know now that these can be faked.

Thought about going to pick it up in person and insisting on paying on the spot. But a scammer could also be... a mugger? I've had a friend get stuck up essentially when he was trying to sell a phone in person. Also, it's a couple hours on the train.

If you have to ask if it's a scam then listen to your gut. If it's too good to be true it is. I've been burnt hard before and never again.

Yeah, nutty price. I don't think they go for appreciably less in the UK. Another variable is that there seems to be a minor internet consensus that the Holo May is even better than the Dave, and can be had for maybe $3700 used. Also plays well with HQPlayer, which I've been interested in lately.

I feel very uncomfortable looking at that listing. Several images look like they were right click saved thumbnails. "Money urgently needed", and odd writing like 5 March makes it feel like a scam.

the may is a gud dac and if you want to fiddle with HQP is a solid platform for that. but ill go on record as saying that even with the best filter I heard (sync-mx) and the best ASDM7EC modulator at dsd512, the may is good, manages to be very similar to MDave but also not as good. the upside is that it is a lot less money.

By MDave do you mean M Scaler + Dave?

How do you tell if an image is right clicked off the net? Resolution?

yeah mscaler + Dave. HQP also offers a lot of tweaking potential to find the exact sound you want if you're into that

Yeah, just started experimenting with HQP. Solid results thus far. Dave + M Scaler prolly not in reach tho.

it might be interesting for me to compare just Dave vs the HQP'd May next time since the price there is more similar if you include the cost of the high end pc needed for the HQP
