Ohm's are down to 26, which is disappointing - Clear's at 55ohm's (Utopia @ 80) drain DAP's battery fast enough. I wonder if they have a FR/character more like Clear OG?
Holy shit, Resolve is, um, definitely different. I only read a handful of posts, so maybe he addresses it, but is there not detail in the entire range? How would extended treble tell me how well a headphone can articulate bass? edit, I read more, and am never taking anything from anyone at Headphones.com seriously again. Miss you, Tyll.
Yes, strange. Especially as very good questions get circled around in unclear language, avoiding to actually get to a clear point. I can’t help thinking this is similar to how strongly religious people sometimes act when difficult questions are raised.
Though later in that thread (read a few pages from the end, haven’t read everything in between), that stuff about how impulse response can be mathematically transformed into FR and back for a minimum phase system—that’s fascinating and points in the direction that they might actually have a point. I hope I have the time to once really wrap my head around all this and understand it.
Single cable connectivity, really low impedance, and a look that's a bit of a riff off Apple but still Focal. Definitely feels like a mobile lifestyle market play, but I think they are way too late to the party here to make a dent.
SG Akustik in Germany still have b stock Elegia (not Elex!) for less than € 500,–. Probably better value, yes, if you’re not specifically looking for a light-weight HP.
Actually, not even b stock, but you have to accept a magazine subscription, which IIRC doesn’t include extra costs if you cancel it on time, though. And you can get another 20% off if you send them any old working headphone or loudspeakers in return. X-)
