So what happens when a senile old fellow that just happens to have won the presidency decides to call Seal Team 6 to "disappear" a political rival, "justified" by national security concerns? Walk me through it.

This. This is now legal. If 'ole Joe (or one of his handlers) were so inclined, next time we saw Trump would be never.

Do we have a window of being allowed politics?

Outsider, non-American, but in my particular pool of light from whatever fuel, I see that even Trump is just a tool of different agenda. It may look as if it is all about him. In the short term, maybe it is. But this agenda was born before him and will live after him. And abandon him if he he becomes no longer of use.

If there is one thing Trump absolutely cannot do, it is recognise that there are bigger things, bigger forces than... Trump.

This is right. I’m going to vote for Trump not for the man, but because he does not hate my agenda, my values, my way of life. He and his staff will see those who hate me for what they are (and thus be a check against them), even when their primary interest is their own ego, position, or fill-in-the-blank. Lesser of two weevels and all that. Perhaps I will put a “Don’t blame me I voted for DeSantis” sticker on my bumper as a kind of qualifier ;)

As far as Seal Team 6, It’s like chief justice Roberts said of the dissent, when you don’t have a reasoned argument, you throw (in this case quite hysterical) stones. Besides, if the opposition is really worried they can just buy some Seal Team 6 swag to show their loyalty…they probably have some BLM & “We believe…” placards in their yard already so they know the drill.

There's been a misperception of what is thread is about. Hint: write something of quality or higher along these lines. upload_2024-7-3_12-0-33.png

    --

I plan on doing a diddy on home solar panels, their pitfalls, shady fIntech's like Goodleap who finance them, etc. My place in San Antonio has solar panels, came with financed solar panels. Don't get me wrong, they are awesome. But lots of things to be aware. Solar isn't quite the panacea as it's so often sold.

    --

Or skillfully incorporate whatever you have to say about politics into a discussion about audio, preferably humorous, which apparently no one can f'ing do.

Or actually write something about audio in the gear sections to "balance" the Force. Like a 10:1 ratio of posts audio : politics would be a starter.

I don't know how many times I have to restate the above.

    --

Evidently I have to f'ing hammer shit over peoples' heads instead of hint at things. I thought I placed a hint a few posts back. The fact is, 95% of posts in thread suck and don't read any different from the peanut gallery comments section in the WSJ, which I have repeatedly wrote to them to give me an option where I don't have to see it.

Ways to avoid even seeing the WSJ Comments (which is what I do on my end):

    • If on Android or iOS Devices (iPhone and iPad), use the WSJ app itself.
      • WSJ app will not show the comments or even allow you to make comments.
    • If on Windows (maybe) or MacOS (which is my experience), I use the AdBlock Pro Extension (with my case I use it with Safari) since there's an option to turn off all extra website elements including scripts and comment section that shows video ad on the WSJ website & the comment section.
      • Turning off that shit also makes the webpage on WSJ loads and runs faster.
      • By default this will show the # of comments as zero since Adblock will prevent WSJ from even loading that part up.
Note: You might need to pay a license for Adblock Pro for all the features. But it works so well that I say screw it and put the money towards it.

I have seen so much crap in newspaper-site comments, youtube comments, etc etc, and eventually I learnt to simply stop scrolling down. It is a truly platform-agnostic solution and completely free of cost.

Apart from that, I'd like to know more about solar panels!

I'm actually getting solar installed next week. Already feeling a bit of buyer's remorse as the province very recently (as in after I already paid deposit and signed all the papers) reduced their sell-back rate so my payback calculation increased from ~12 years to ~16, but we'll see...

We're gonna have a contest. Line 'em volunteers, go ham and spit out what you get into a jar. First one to fill the jar wins. Prize for the winner is both jars.

Could you actually code to enforce that? Like if you post to this thread there's a 48 hour timer before you can post again (short of editing your previous post)

Why we need to be be babied this way? Extra work just for a few "horny" political guys blabbing their fat rolls away? I am enjoying reading keyboards.

A small percent of people generally commit the majority of the crimes.

And I don't see it as babying. Call it a social experiment

Let’s talk current state of mechanical keyboards, the science of why a cheap Douk amp sounds better than a $6k Bakoon for speakers, and of the intricacies of solar power and solar loans for the home (why solar is kinda scammy*).

*Which goes against the grain, which is “politically incorrect” or an inconvenient truth.

If we can’t do that, post cute puppy photos.
