Well, they owned up to authoring those other posts at least. I understand the need to vent online by posting (to use local nomenclature) "noise", but most don't use the same online handles across multiple fora. That's gotta say something about @D2Girls, though whether it's candor or carelessness is up for speculation.

Incidentally, welcome to the forum! Introductions tend to be a bit more in-depth than simple "Hi"s, though you needn't disclose too much about yourself if you don't want to.

I'm going to make one more comment before going back to lurking until I feel more comfortable participating in discussions here. I am only bothering to make this comment because I feel like if I don't I'll be 5ever branded as some kind of stupid meme. Maybe this thread is just one big bantz, and I'm taking it too seriously.

Have I trolled on massdrop and other random gaming forums? Yes. Should it be used against me, here, on this forum? Maybe, but until I prove otherwise I think you should take my word at face value that I will not act like that here. I joined this forum for the very reasons all these rules are in place. I want to contribute to healthy and intelligent discussion about audio. This seems like the best forum online to do that. I've said it already but I'll say it again I have no intention to shitpost or troll during my stay here. I'll go back to lurking now. I was planning on posting in the 'life after yggdrasil thread' made by torq sometime next month of my impressions of the schiit ygdrasil after I've ordered my unit and had a good listen to it.

 

The old "don't take the fact that I acted like a lunatic to mean that I will continue to act like a lunatic" stump speech. Classic. I don't understand your "ask" here. You are being regarded the way you have shown others you most likely should be regarded. Seems oblivious to ask strangers to take you at your word and make an appeal to respect when your history of posting has not indicated that respect for others is important to you. If you're serious about starting over, you'd probably be best off just making a new account after people have forgotten about this. That said, enjoy SBAF. It is a nice place. (Mainly because it runs on established respect.)

I guess it was incredibly presumptuous of me to think that I could come here with a fresh start. Didnt think anyone would care that I was trolling around on massdrop.

This isnt any excuse but I didnt know who that guy was when I mentioned him on massdrop. i actually really regret acting like such an asshole and troll on massdrop when i first got into this hobby. again, sorry for anyone i've offended. i'll do my best to make amends and be a better person all around.

 

What are you going to compare the Yggdrasil against?

 

actually i was thinking into it deeper and was thinking i should hold off posting any public impressions until i've heard more things to compare to the Yggdrasil. at the moment i've only been aquainted with my denon x3300w avr. but in a way that's a good product to go head to head with the Yggdrasil in the sense i'll be able to hear a lot more things as the Yggdrasil will blow it out of the water. i know someone who owns an audio gd dac (the cheaper $300 model, not sure which one) so I'll be borrowing that soon too. and lastly I was going to be picking up an oppo udp 205 (or possibly just an udp 203) bluray player. i would love to try out other dac's in the higher price range but I can't afford it right now unless i forgo upgrading my speakers and amp (kef ls50 and anthem 225). i think to make an intelligent comparison i'd need extensive time with each new dac. could be 3 months away anyway so we'll see.

So what happened over the past 2 months to make you a non-asshole, non-troll? If you can't even take responsibility for your behavior, it's hard to believe you've managed to change it:

 

does it matter what happened to change my tone? also i was trying to be funny. it was pretty embarrassing and surprising to get called out for stuff i did earlier. was trying to make light of it. thought i made it pretty clear in my other posts here that i am coming clean with my previous behavour on other forums.

 

From subsequent posts, it would appear to be carelessness, but I'd also like to point out that GUTB uses the same username across multiple fora, including Massdrop.
