No, we are not planning on doing the LITE anymore. We're just gonna stay with the full PI2AES and the mercury series. May 17, 2025

Your business, your decision. I'm sure you know the sales numbers. That said, just anecdotally, I own 2 Lites, and not sure I would own any otherwise. For people outside the US (I'm in Canada) who have to factor in currency exchange, shipping, GST and now potentially tariffs, the cheaper option was desirable. $300CAD for the LIte is worthwhile. $500CAD for balanced outputs I don't use would price me out.

Yeah, I'm the same. I bought an OG Pi2AES when prices were lower, but would find it hard to justify an additional one now. Which, Michael, is not a criticism of your current pricing; you've been transparent about the reasons for the increases in the various threads. But nonetheless I'd be happier if the Lite was still an option :)

Working on the final prototype of Merc-Mini. We put some screen caps and a block diagram of the website under the coming soon page.

Are you planning to offer any more PiAES Lites?

Changes are mostly around how it’s powered. There’s no longer a wide input voltage to 5 V converter. Instead it can either be powered from the pi or run in split power mode with an external 5V supply. Same as the LITE.

First proto due here in a couple of weeks. If it passes tests then we will get the first batch of 100 about three weeks later.

Hey mike. Just posted a possible solution for the i2s connection issue with my Pontus DAC in the dummies guide. Please have a look at it and tell me what you think.

      Thanks!

      Hi Michael,
Not sure if this is the best place to ask a question. Marv,s son built me a PI2 which Marv then tried to help me get set up. Im an older guy who does not get along to well with computers. We failed and I could not get it to work. Are you making a product that a complete non computer person could get to work? If so point me in the direction on how to get it.
      best,
      Josh

Do you have an idea of what part of it failed? Was it not being able to connect to your home network?

It is remotely possible there’s something wrong with it. If you want to pack it all up and send it back to us I’ll be more than happy to get it running with whichever software you want to use. But you would still need to be able to connect it to your home network.

do you know if support for pi hats is planned to be added to the 64bit versions of linux anytime soon? or are we gonna be stuck on armv7 for the foreseeable future?

I own Pi 2 Design where we do Raspberry Pi hats and shields. Lots of digital, but some audio, including tubes. Michael
