In the Gungnir Multibit Impressions thread, @k4rstar recommends this $7.25 (with shipping included) fuse (https://www.ebay.com/itm/393306921615), but not sure if your Yggdrasil uses the same fuse type, and I'm also too scared to try it on my Gungnir...
In my talks with several people who actually design things like amps and DACs, not one time have I ever heard the suggestion that this would improve things. All of them instead looked at me like I was crazy.
I have fallen once and got myself SR purple fuse and paid top $$$ for it. Well I take positive out of everything so the money was spent on a lesson for me that was - it doesn't have much say in sound quality. Although I did have some placebo, making everything sound better but alas it was gone after few days.
Yup, it is audible. I used a $40 Hi-Fi Tuning fuse in a dac, but when I sold it, I separately sold the fuse. If you have not treated room, EQ'd speakers or HP, then do not go for this tweak ....yet :) I would be more temped to try some ceramic or filled glass fuses first or even some teflon tape damping, rather than spend $ on a fuse.
@zerodeefex C'mon, hyperbole aside, have you actually heard stock vs audiophile fuses in even 10% of your claim? Me, only 1. Power cords, different story, dozens of cables in dozens of personal systems, ever since I started building them and buying them.
